everything about this bike is so refined, I don't see much that would need changing. I can see why people love it. And your top bag fits nicely on there as well.

Thanks! It has its foibles, and the Street Triples are probably the better street option, but I still love it!

Great video of your lovely bike. Here in the UK I'm looking to buy a 675. Probably won't be the R as I'm not convinced I really need to Ohlins & Brembos just for road use, also something about the red frame section that makes it look a bit disjointed imo. Have you considered HID Headlight conversion? Think they improve light a lot & look nicer as well. Also, the original exhaust you had (adapted small pipe), was there an issue with it, & how did it sound?
@MotoJournoKris2 жыл бұрын
The Taylor Made exhaust was great but I had issues with a fueling controlling and stripped both off to try and trouble shoot. It was quite loud, although I was pretty happy with it. The Arrow exhaust was a nice compromise, however I actually think just unhooking the exup valve to keep it open at low rpm helped the bike sound a little meaner at low rpm and idle enormously. I did look into it, but the price put me off. I know there was some good conversion options but none locally, with lengthy waits.

Hi Just wondering if you had the clutch clatter noise on your Daytona on neutral?

Yep on start up especially when it wasn't being ridden daily.

@@MotoJournoKris does doing an oil change help with it?
@MotoJournoKris3 жыл бұрын
@@okitoki1973 Not that I found, it just seemed to be a bit of a quirk until the bike warms up and more oil gets circulated. I know when I looked into it a lot of other owners had similar experiences and there was a bit of discussion around it.

@@MotoJournoKris thanks for the reply. It feels weird that there's clatter when in neutral as this is the first bike I ever had that does it. Seems common among the 675s
@MotoJournoKris3 жыл бұрын
@@okitoki1973 I know what you mean! I did a fair bit of research about it and ended asking at my Triumph dealer and it just seemed to be the norm, which put my mind at rest. Especially as nothing changed over a number of years.

Hey Kris I'm planning on using the 08 675 motor in a Formula SAE race car for a student competition. This being a race even i want to squeeze out as much power as I can out of this motor and was wondering what mods you would recommend to help make this car an absolute missile. Any help is greatly appreciated and I can't wait to here from you!
@MotoJournoKris3 жыл бұрын
Wow, that sounds like a wicked project! I'm probably not going to be a lot of help there, as I only did the very basics and if I'm honest I was never too concerned about power, I just went for a performance airfilter (K&N) and tried out the Taylor Made exhaust (slip-on) and the Triumph Arrow slip-on, but I never invested in getting a specific tune for maximum power, or really took it any further, using it only as a road bike. If you google Triumph 675 forum, there's a great forum with basically the same name, and there was a lot of people racing them there, especially in America who had some great insights into the performance side of things. They were definitely the experts on that side of things!

Why did you put louder engine sound over quieter voice-over when you're discussing mods, in a video about mods? I couldn't hear anything you said from 2:41 to 3:59. :-(
@MotoJournoKris4 жыл бұрын
Sorry about that, I can hear it ok but not great on my computer, but I know it varies between devices. Always a bit of a balancing act mixing audio and I'm not that great at it still.

@@RubenTavernier Thanks! It's very much a work in progress, the voice over riding footage with engine sound, or being able to record voice over directly onto onboard footage is still a real weak point for me.

Also from Sydney and have the Daytona. Thinking buying the ninja 400 to replace the daily commute
@MotoJournoKris5 жыл бұрын
I reckon it's a great choice for that, the Ninja is still fun but even easier to run around on in traffic, and a little less to worry about someone knocking over, especially when you're having to park or leave it unattended for long periods, like at work or similar.

How is the reliability and do you still have the ninja 400?
@MotoJournoKris5 жыл бұрын
Yep the Ninja 400 is my wife's, but I commute a lot on it. The Daytona hasn't been too bad, had a cracked inlet manifold years ago that took a lot of work to discover, but was covered under warranty. I commuted on it for two years in terrible traffic, now has 37,000km on it, and the clutch is starting to slip, which isn't surprising with how much city riding I've done. It did throw an error code at one point and wouldn't start when I was using a ServoBuddy but the shop reset everything and it was good to go...
