I've been a Polaris tech for 15 years. Please do yourself a favor and at the very least get the front frame 1024369-458. Polaris frames do not react well to being pulled and you don't want a failure in a 170hp SXS.

I gotta agree with the polaris tech. I own the exact same model, color, sans the carnage. Given the extreme pressures these machines see on the trail, no way I would trust a repaired frame. Fortunately, you can buy the front 1/2 of the frame and repair it properly. Shame to waste all that time and money to have it fail on you and have to do the work again. But kudos on your determination guys.

Well I did auto body frame and collision repair for more years than that. Worked with similar frame machines as seen here. I can tell you there is as much or more risk of failure in cutting out and replacing frame sections. Cold straightening frame sections by experienced operators with proper frame equipment is as good and often better.

Pulling a frame so it looks straight is one thing but are you getting good measurements from set points on the frame so it's absolutely correct and in tolerance? I'm just asking as I was a plumber by trade. That's what bothers me about frame damaged sxs. Does it have a clean title?

Roll bar definitely needs reinforcement & some extra bracing. I think the one on my old Polaris was made out of the same tubing as Walmart swing sets. New Can Am X3 cage seems a lot stouter.

Make sure you bleed the air from the cooling system. Bleeder is on top of engine,and is a pain in the balls to get too. Also the inter cooler takes a long time to purge the air.
@zzzzzz...9902
@zzzzzz...9902 2 жыл бұрын
Actually, I think there is a trick you can do. Just fill up the radiator with coolant once it's all connected as well as the reservoir like normal. Then raise the machine up into the air a little bit and then remove the radiator cap. Then start it up and let it run for about a minute and you should see bubbles coming out as you look. Then go ahead and put the cap back on and the air should be out of the coolant system. Take it for a ride to make sure it does not overheat and if it does not, then that confirms that all air is out of the system.
