Nice shirt. It looks orange on the screen. I ran a 4k on the 4th and I'm definitely not well, Fitness wise. So I'm stuck trying to analyze what's up with me.

Yeah, fitness, especially shorter race fitness, is tough to keep. The shorter races require more speed training. I think as we get older its easier to build and maintain decent fitness for longer events.

Very interesting. I had a good race. We are about same age. But I'm carrying too much weight. Peachtree is such a hassle, but it's great. We drove down from Chattanooga. Stayed at airport hotel. Took shuttle to MARTA at Hartsfield. I prefer getting off at Lenox rather than Buckhead, so we (and many others) got off the train we were on and waited for the next. We were in the R group and we didn't have to wait long to go. The hills are not as bad as I remember. Maybe because I was in a little better shape. Anyhow, great job!

Yeah, the Lenox station is the best. The course is a good one with an honest mix of up and down. It's challenging but not too much. Sounds like you had a good race overall. Thanks for watching and commenting!

Plan to run the Peachtree next year as it is the 10 year anniversary of my son spending the summer at the Shepherd Center after a horse riding accident. It will be a very emotional race as the memories of that time will come flooding back. He had a diffuse axonal brain injury and three days after the accident we were told if/when he came out of the coma that he would probably need full time care. It happened on Father’s Day and by the end of the summer he was on the road to a full recovery. There are saints working in that place and The Lord can be felt in that facility daily.

Wow, your son had quite a serious injury but it sounds like he made a full recovery. It always amazes me how resilient the human body is, especially as children. Running the Peachtree would be a great way to celebrate your son's recovery. Thanks for watching and good luck in your training for next year's Peachtree!
