Hi Tommo, you've been my go-to F1 KZbinr since the pandemic - great job over the years! Would love to see you add a segment for F3 and F2 for the weekends shared with F1. I know you've made a couple of standalone videos on drivers but I don't believe any F1 KZbinr covers results etc regularly. It would be nice to have shorter predictions, bangers and clangers segments for those, too! Cheers!

i would love to see a running tally of bangers and clangers as the season progresses, so maybe you can say “you gave Max banger drive for the 3rd time this season” or whatnot, and then for the end of year roundup you can go through most agreed upon bangers and clangers or most divisive, so if a driver gets like 80 percent banger you can summarise the race and their performance, or if two teams got almost equal votes for clanger you can go through what earned them those votes. maybe go through the bangers and clangers you dispute the most from the audience as well, and call us out for our lack of wheel knowledge

Thinking about Banger Teams, I am very happy how Ferrari managed to low-key be one of the best teams, operationally speaking, across the whole season; they even managed to put a WCC challenge despite not having the fastest car for the majority of races. Sure, there were some vintage clown moments (Canada), but if they iron out their mid-season development, Fred's kitchens may finally cook a Michelin worthy meal.

When the car was geared more towards Lewis for 2022 and 2023 nobody gave George the benefit of the doubt on the times he couldn't get the most out of the car. Why is Lewis getting that excuse when things are the other way around? 2/3 seasons were George's but the story is somehow "preferential treatment"? First it was "setups", then "safety cars", then "sabotage", now "preferential treatment". If you or other F1 fans don't want to give George any credit that's fine but do realise its a long list of excuses by this point. One driver is a 7 time world champion and one is still a young guy starting to establish himself, but its the champion who gets all the excuses under the sun.

Merry Christmas and happy holidays Tommo and friends of Tommo! I am skipping my family’s big holiday meal this year cause I just don’t want to go + I have celiac disease and can’t eat about 95% of the food so holiday meals are pretty miserable for me 🥲 as for future channel stuff; pretty much every F1 content creator I follow does a post race breakdown video either live stream or recorded and yours are nearly always the longest. I had to quit watching/listening to the chinwags partway through the season cause I don’t have the time given that I like to watch a variety of content creators to get different opinions. I would love to see something shorter form like a condensed/edited version of the chinwag that’s cut down to ≈ 20 minutes and just hits the high points without all the waffle. I saw someone else comment this and I DEFINITELY agree, the polls need to be up way longer. they’re only up for a few hours sometimes and it seems to happen when I’m asleep. I even have tweet notifications on for you so I don’t miss it so that needs to be sorted out imo 😂

One conclusion we can draw from these results is that the viewers are voting overwhelmingly for the top teams and drivers when it comes to bangers and clangers. Even though the underdog might have a better weekend relative to the performance of the car, the viewers will vote more towards the race winners, while tommo has a more balanced view. One example is the high number of votes for lando, mclaren or mercedes. The community somehow though that lando had better races than max, but voted for max in the general ranking. Bit mad
@TomC804216 күн бұрын
Disagree tbh, the amount of times this year that Norris had the banger driive or one of the top3 but Tommo always picked someone else. 4 is probably too much but he should have had 2-3
@ShiningChris1215 күн бұрын
@@TomC8042why? All the races that he won (excluding sprints), are races where he either was lucky (miami), or he had some mistakes (singapore, zandvoort lost pole first turn). By that logic, verstappen should get banger driver for the first 7 races without australia, because he dominated way more than lando.
@MoviWasTaken12 күн бұрын
@@ShiningChris12not giving Lando at least one banger drive is quite unfair specially races like Singapore yes he did make few mistake but did that even effect his race at all? Dominated the entire weekend finished 20 seconds ahead of Max 40 seconds infront of his teammate in the same car almost got a clean sweep if it wasn’t for Danny going for the FL, penalizing him for mistakes that didn’t even effect his race is wild. No one else on the grid this year is held to this crazy standard people have for Lando.
@ShiningChris1212 күн бұрын
@@MoviWasTaken Don't compare it to this year, compare it to last year. Last year Max dominated 20 races with +20 second gaps, and only got 4-5 banger drives. This just shows that tommo does not necessarily favor dominance of the race leader. I don't think that Lando's Singapore was as dominant as most of Verstappen's races last year, so this is probably why I don't think its that unfair that tommo did not give him banger.
@MoviWasTaken12 күн бұрын
@ I like how you literally proved my point lol? Max got 4 - 5 banger drivers for dominating a entire race weekend in the fastest car, Lando does the same fastest FP2, FP3, Quali Pole, Leads every lap wins with a 20 second gap to 2nd and 40 second gap to 3rd in the same car almost gets fastest lap but that isn’t enough for a banger driver why because he almost hit the wall twice even though it didn’t affect his race at all? The standard people have set for Lando is basically impossible to achieve if anyone else did what Lando did that weekend they would have been banger driver, what I’m trying to say is that he deserved at least one banger driver in the entire season.
@nicktrains22346 күн бұрын
Merry Christmas tommo, thanks for the video. Just to say, not giving lando a single banger all year is just ridiculous. Not even miami?
@siimtokke346115 күн бұрын
Charles and Ferrari for me had a very "under the radar" season. Sure I can remember the wins, but I can't remember any of the highlights. I can't remember which race it was, but after the race people were surprised including myself how close Ferrari was in the points to RB and McLaren. People talk about how McLaren was "the best car since Miami", but people don't talk about how close Ferrari and RB were to McLaren since Miami. That is probably why Charles' and Ferrari's season feel so "under the radar". In the first 5 races, RB had 4 dominant performances, in the rest 19 I'd say McLaren had as big of a gap as RB did (at the start of the season) in 3 races (Hungary, Dutch, and Singapore). For the rest of the 16 races, the gap between 1st, 2nd, and 3rd was much closer. Plus RB wasn't 3rd fastest in those 19 races like a lot of people like to pretend. Again McLaren wasn't the clear nr 1 car for all those 19 races, for every pole Lando took. For some reason, people are pushing the narrative that McLaren was the clear favorite. Realistically those 19 races were close racing, with small gaps between teams, one weekend McLaren was the slightly better car, the next weekend Ferrari was, and the next RB was. Then on odd weekends, Merc got into the mix to be the best. About Lawrence and AM and not giving people time. Just look at McLaren. They and many reporters made so much noise about signing James Key from TR, he became their technical director in 2019. His first real impact came with the 2022 car and he was fired after 2 races in 2023 (24 races total in the groundforce era). Now McLaren is the Constructor champion. Also, Mike Krack has received much praise for what he has done as the team principal. It's so sad to hear in a year where McLaren completed the season with 0 DNFs Tommo ripping into Lando for almost crashing. Implying that Lando was as crash-happy as Max, or young Charles, or Russell. Also, on a side note, Max is still crashstappen. When it comes to wheel-to-wheel racing in equal (or somewhat equal) machinery Max is lacking. Max doesn't crash into others when he has the better car. Hold your horses Tommo, Max didn't get one over Ric more often than not. Of the almost 3 years they drove the same car Ric beat Max in the season standings 2-1. Plus in Ric's last he got some horrible luck with mechanical issues. Max got 22 podiums (5 wins, 9 2nd, and 8 3rd), and Ric got 19 podiums (4 wins, 5 2nd, and 10 3rd). Max scored 612 points and Ric 588 points. So I'd say they were pretty even.
