Yeah, seeing the eclipse really does make the whole idea that we're a rock floating in space very visceral, very real. There's the intellectual understanding of space and our solar system, but seeing the eclipse makes it very real... almost terrifyingly so... but in a beautiful way.

I’ve been researching the weather on eclipse day 4/8/24 which brought me to your video. I hope your realize just how lucky you were that the clouds parted like that right when they needed to. Most of South Texas was completely clouded out. In fact your video is the first I’ve found showing a practically miraculous parting of the clouds in South Texas. Dallas also has a similar miracle. So happy for everyone who got to see it. I on the other hand wasn’t going to take any chances so I drove from E Texas to Arkansas for the eclipse.

I was able to get a good look at the eclipse between the clouds. Very cool. I had a telescope and camera all set up.. locked on the sun and tracking.. but forgot to remove the solar filter.. by the time I realized my mistake it was over. Dumb rookie mistake, lol.

Similar experience here. Heavy clouds before totality started to thin out, i think, around the time the temperature dropped. Very moving experience. I lugged a tripod and didn't use it too! Enjoyed your video!

Wow, clouds broke just in time! Same thing happened to us up in Canada. Got lucky 🌝🌚🌝 Great video 👍 the glitches made it more fun 🤩

Thanks! The eclipse is definitely once in a lifetime event which I hope to possibly see in my lifetime. Also love astronomy videos.

Planes are like torture these days 😭😭 I'm old enough to remember checking in at the airport and the attendants usually would give me the exit row, back when it was the same price as every other seat...
