Writing is like being a yo-yo, so many ups and downs. Your rewrites are a testament to your commitment to the quality of your work, but never let perfect be the enemy of good! Get that art out for the world to enjoy 😃 💜

@@KramersRemarks This is so true and definitely something I needed to hear right now. Thank you 😄 It’s amazing how you can know something to be true, give this advice, and still fall prey to it. But it’s so important to let go of perfectionism and embrace the good!

It's really inspiring and encouraging to see that successfully published authors still go through some of the same cycles of doubts and insecurity as us amateurs do. It shows that this is just a normal part of the process.

I really liked this video. It feels very honest and real. Sometimes, as readers, we think that a successful writer like you has an easy and happy life because you’ve been writing for so long. It’s nice to see that you also struggle and do your best when writing. What surprised me the most was learning that a stand-alone book isn’t popular in the industry. Even more surprising was finding out that you decided to change the beginning of your first They Stay book. It must be hard to rewrite the first book of a successful series!

Just found your channel a couple of weeks ago. Absolutely love your content. It's so sharp and spot on. I'm writing my first fiction novel in danish and all your advice and breakdowns are a big help. Hope you have a wonderful new year! :)

@ Just binged the audiobook of They Stay in 2 days! Couldn’t turn it off. The way you develop your characters and move forward your plot is inspiring! Can’t wait to read the others.

Yay!! I was looking forward to your 2024 wrap up. I'm so proud of everything you accomplished this year. You are an inspiration and I'm so pleased to be part of your community. I must say I'm super intrigued about the re-write of They Stay 5!! 🥰 I love these characters so much I cannot wait to see their resolutions. I am also curious about this thriller you wrote for the conference. As well as the new pen-name and what you'll be writing in that genre that you feel may be more profitable. I wasn't a fan of ghost stories much prior to reading your series ... probably because I scare easily. lol. Thanks as always for sharing your time with us so generously. and yes, I was one of the ones who absolutely love your plot grid example with the frat boy garden gnomes! lol

Congratulations! I would feel like gold if I got that Writer's Digest award you did. I'm going for the stand alone book as well. Would like to hear your tips on keeping the protagonist interesting.

Great video. I enjoyed hearing about your experiences with ads. I'd love to learn more about that, or videos on marketing, beta-readers and ARC teams. This year I shared my writing for the first time; I wrote and posted 4 novella length stories online. To say your videos helped me would be an understatement - thank you! The feedback and number of views I've received has been very encouraging and next year I plan to self-publish a novel length romance. My main fear is that I won't get my book(s) in front of my target audience, hence my interest in promotion/marketing! p.s. for selfish reasons, I'm hoping your new thing is romance and we'll get more future videos on romance specific tips :) Happy New Year.

@@tipau I’m so happy my videos helped you!! That’s so exciting you’re planning to publish. I can absolutely make more videos sharing my experience witb FB ads, but I did learn it is MUCH easier to get them to work for romance than it is for more niche genres so don’t be discouraged by my experience (you may want to tune into next week’s video for my reveal of the new pen name genre 😉)

I would love a break down of some of the changes you made to ”They Stay” during your rewrite and why you made them. 🙏 Kind of like you did when you compared your first draft to your final draft. It helped me so much as an new author. ❤

I like books that have not perfect happy endings!

@@amandaovena684 This is a relief to hear because I think mine is going to end up being both happy and unhappy in different ways, but I also like that, because it’s like life 😄
