I love GripMasters. I have Roos on my driver/woods/irons, and then do the wraps on my wedges so that there isn't a seam sitting in a weird spot if I open them up. Awesome, awesome grips, and there's really no need to wear a glove.

YES MATT THIS HAS BEEN MY SWING BREAKTHROUGH TOO!!!! My friend I feel like we've been on this journey together and so many times you've been dealing with the same issues as me at the same time. I’m actually going down to a 12 club setup next season using single length Avodas LW-4i, putter, driver. I don’t encounter needing 250-300 yd shots that much so just no need for the fairway woods. Wish me luck!

Great to see a new video! The overturning issue is something I’ve struggled with for a long time. The second tip is gold! Feels weird at first, but contact is much more consistent and there doesn’t seem to be any loss in distance. Thanks!
@zacharymilos3924 ай бұрын
Your swing issues are the same as mine, and what you describe is actually part of what's been called the "no turn cast drill", where a player feels like they make the entire back swing without really turning the body. It's helped me a bunch although I always go back to old habits of over rotating. I totally got what you were saying about it feels horrible but looks really good. Golf is a crazy game.

Good to see you back Matt. I play the cobras also. When you talked about adding 2° aloft in your playing your seven iron at 32° got me a little concerned for my gapping also. Double check mine my wedge is at 45 and my seven hours and 31 Those came from cobra. Hope that helps a few people. But what a great club took the Srixon ZX seven Mark II out of my bag.

Nice. Those Cobra irons are tempting. I wonder how much more (if at all) more forgiving they are than my King Tours from a few years back
@NewlandGolf4 ай бұрын
Really liking what you've done with your cobra irons. Have similar swing issues, went from a tsr 3 to a ai smoke max 10.5 and hit driver better immediately but I like u need to stop the handle drag still get thr low on thr face low flighted missle. But yes might get my lofts softened on my t150's after watching this had to do the same thing and get a 48 degree vokey to fill the gap. Be nice to get a 5 wood or a apex uw
@iiZAPPx4 ай бұрын
I deal with the exact same thing. I have a hard time maintaining width and the lag makes things a bit narrow in transition. I have to do a lot of drills with driver feeling like im making half swings keeping hands as far away from me as possible. Never a problem with the irons but as you work your way up the bag, we deal with the exact same pattern difficulties. Hoping we both can nail it down and clean it up this winter
@justinerb69754 ай бұрын
One that has really helped me with driver is the feeling of trying to push my hands as far away from my body at the top of my backswing, purposely straightening my trail elbow as much as possible keeping my elbows close together. The added benefit is that it really shallows the club too.
@TheBooze134 ай бұрын
Matty we love seeing a swing journey. We’re all on it would love to see more videos of yours. Also have a specific request. Also - with the limit3d 4 iron I am gapping from there to my 5w. Rather than play a 3w that I can’t hit well, I carry two drivers now. Ping g430 lst at 9* and 44 inch shaft. And a cobra darkspeed LS 8* head playing 6.5* at 45.5 inches. I rarely ever have approaches where it’s 280 into a par 5. So what’s the point of a 3w? Really love the two driver setup. Took some work to get the swingweighting dialed in, but having a short driver is so nice on tight tee shots. I hit a 44 inch forgiving driver so much straighter than a 3w.

I have it. I'm definitely not the norm but if I catch one on the toe with driver my spin can get down to 3 digits. My cruising spin is around 1700 and I have to use a 12* driver since I have so much lag. Deadly with wedges though 😂

Looks like your weight isn't left and doesn't look like you are into your left side at all. Do you release with your right arm or left arm? That gap between your left elbow and body is green light to let it rip so much space to turn and release - huge speed there for free. I'm surprised you are fussing with wrist angles. It looks like you pull down with your right arm, try swings with your right arm passive in transition. You have incredible turn - geez so much speed left on the table.
