I think using your rest to paper tune as apposed to making adjustments to the bow ie shim's, twisting the string's can be a bandaid fix for bow been out of tune, using your rest to make small adjustments but I also understand the cheaper bow have a little less adjustable. PS just came across your channel and I'm liking what I see, definitely worth a subscription.

I'll usually go into the shop twice yearly for a hardcore tune and try to avoid messing with the strings and cams. I may stop in to get timing checked, but typically, if something seems out of tune, I'll experiment with my rest to get the arrow flight I'm looking for. It's worked for me so far, but I can see a bow press in my future. There is a ton of info to be learned there. Thanks for the comment!

I bought Hoyt torrex last year for my first bow. I wanted to start shooting and get back into hunting but my local shop doesn’t know how to tune correctly so I havnt been able to get it sighted in or hunt with it yet. It’s very frustrating

@@PatriotPopp19 that’s weird considering it’s a pretty mainstream bow from a big company? I’d go to a different shop asap
