MY 2024 LOW BUY YEAR

I am doing my first low buy year, although I am not a huge shopper, I do love to go to thrift stores and a good deal is hard to pass up. I am allowing myself a few things I want to replace this year. I am specifically looking for those at thrift stores, but other than that I'm going to stay away. I lost my husband unexpectedly in Dec of 2021 and am learning to live on much less that we had been. After he died, I had a scarcity mindset and bought stuff for security if that makes sense. I bought a generator and filled my freezer and stocked my pantry etc... I am working on getting past that mindset and trusting that if I do the best I can do, God will take care of the rest. I am needing to replenish my emergency fund and my daughter is getting married this year, so those are the savings goals that I have for this low buy year. By the way, I think you are beautiful without makeup, glad you don't feel the need to use it. I am also proud of your year of sobriety, that is huge!!

I'm doing a low buy year but I haven't exactly made rules not to buy specific things. Because my main aim is to not buy random crap I don't need. So I know what I don't need to be buying without a specific list. I just ask myself 'but do you really need it?' 'Would you actually use/wear it?' 9 times out of 10 the answer is no and I put it back.

really like your no amazon rule. i don´t think i am able to live without any orders, but i just deleted the amazon app from my phone, so i have to use my computer to order stuff, which takes a bit longer and keeps my away from just purchasing random stuff just beccause i feel like i need it just as a note, as it is none of my business. i know for US standards, you are far ahead of most people by having an emergency fund. yet, as a european, it seems really strange to buy a 2021 car, for which you have to get a 25.000$ loan. i personally would buy either a slightly older ICE vehicle, or get a used model 3/y cause they last forever, and are cheaper to fuel and maintain

I did start with no Amazon app and I haven't had that in about 4-5 months! Next time with the vehicle, I'll probably buy a bit smarter!
