Age and thyroid dried my long german hair very far up the hair shaft. After one month of wearing a MOMME silk hair bonnet to bed, I was sold. My hair completely improved. My bonnet is double thickness. I have learned that silk is not silky on the wrong side. It is like any other fabric on the wrong side. So my first bonnet was doubled and I did not think anything of it. My second was a set of four from Amazon and they are single layer. So to be safest, I turn then inside out and wear the soft, silky side against my hair..

You're so gorgeous ❤️❤️ totally agree with silk caps! I'm a curly head so breakage and friz are my worst nightmare. I'm so excited that Olaplex 0 and 3 are on this list. Came on here just to see if they were because they have been lifesavers for my hair. Mine is relaxed, which causes quite a bit of damage. I kept having breakage on the ends, and I was trimming it faster than it could grow. Maddening for someone trying to grow really long hair. Anyway, my ends are staying so healthy and full since I started using Olaplex a year ago, and I'm nearly brastrap length now.

@@SarahIngleOfficial You’re saying the fact they sponsored AND four of the 21 products you recommend are sold by this company are unrelated? All while they sell making false claims because one their products are not 100% silk as they claim and two they have no oeko-Tex certification as they claim. I love these tips❤️! The one thing I cannot live without are the Malibu C Hard Water Hair Treatment packets (I also use the Hard Water Wellness Remedy Shampoo and Conditioner occasionally)! These are an absolute must for anyone with hard water! I started using them about 3 months ago, and my hair looks and feels completely different already! They recommend using a packet once a week, but since I only wash my hair twice a week I use a packet every 2 weeks. This pulls all the minerals from the hard water out of the hair, leaving hair softer, shinier, and less tangled. The best part is that it gets rid of the orange tones (brass) left in the hair from mineral deposits, which is one of the main reasons why I use it. I love it!

another reason why wooden brushes are better for hair, it is very sciency, but there's this thing called the triboelectric charge table. basically, when you rub two things together there is a transfer of electrons and the triboelectric charge table tells you whether the thing you rubbed against another thing will be positively charged (loose electrons) or negatively charged (gain electrons). hair and wood are both on the positive side of the triboelectric charge table and so when they rub together there will be a lesser exchange of electrons and less static friction in comparison to plastic and hair as plastic is lower on the table and is negative. therefore with less static friction, the effect of rubbing together is less so less damage.

When you recommend 'the best' hair product for you, it's really useful for the rest of us if you give us an idea what hair type you have. Obviously, the best shampoo for oily straight hair isn't gonna the same for über dry curly hair etc. Can I ask what your hair type is and what this shampoo does for you that others don't/havent?
@CharlotteSteele-gg4ss Жыл бұрын
A few things that helped with my hair growth was apple cider vinegar clarifying shampoo. I only used it when I had product build up or my hair was (disgustingly) greasy. It made it shiny & felt very clean, but not stripping it of natural oils. Also when my hair felt a bit dry, I used a co-wash, instead of normal shampoo. So for me, on the day of shampooing, it was assessing what my hair looked/felt like & then using the correct kinda shampoo to what my hair needed. I definitely agree with silk products, these look amazing! I haven’t used silk products yet, but I have heard great things. I definitely agree with microfibre towels/turbans. I think taking vitamins helps too, as realistically, you aren’t always going to get all the vitamins your body needs everyday to maintain great hair or hair growth, so vitamins is a great back up. One product that I used that is a game changer if you have damaged hair is Naturtint anti-age CC cream! Definitely check it out. It’s a game changer if you have damaged hair!

Can you do a video on sulfates? Are they really bad for your hair?
@Alice199612013 жыл бұрын
Short answer on that, from someone who grew up with hairdressers & just finished beauty school, is yes, they're bad for your hair. They tend to be a bit harsh and over-stripping. Longer answer is that there are a lot of different sulfates and how bad they are depends on which one you're talking about, and how it's formulated in that product. But sulfate free shampoos and such are generally gentler, less drying, and won't fade hair dye nearly as fast. Sulfate free shampoo & conditioner is a must for anyone who dyes their hair and wants it to last.

Every time I hear your intro, I can’t help but hear it as “this is me, I’m so raw” Also, my favourite hair products for this year are the Kerastase protein shampoo and mask treatments. Because my hair is very badly damaged, and I need something to help hold it together, and so I don’t have to cut my hair from waist length to shoulder length. I’d try Olaplex, but it’s basically unavailable right now thanks to the pandemic. As for silk, I’ve said it before, but you can’t just use any silk, it has to be a satin weave. Silk is a fibre, satin is the pattern that it’s woven in. So you can get polysatin (made of polyester), and it will also be very smooth, which is basically the main point. But- silk is better than polyester. It’s worse for animals (most silk requires killing the silkworms, so it is not vegan), but it’s better for the environment. It also feels nicer and cooler on the skin. I’m not a fan of polyester, but if you want the benefits of a silk satin pillowcase, but can’t afford real silk, polyester satin will still be better than cotton. And poly satin will be better than say, silk dupioni or silk crepe. The point is that the weave is very smooth. And if you have to have cotton (because you don’t want the plastic of polyester or the animal cruelty of silk), then go for cotton sateen. It’s basically a satin weave, but using cotton. It’s not a full satin because cotton fibres are very short, so it’s called sateen instead, and it’s not as smooth as satin, but it’s definitely smoother than a plain weave cotton. That’s the info I would like to impart today- silk is a fibre, satin is a weave. A silk dupioni pillowcase would be worse than a plain cotton pillowcase, because dupioni is quite rough to the touch, and very slubby. You need it to be a satin weave, preferably in silk, but you can use polyester if silk satin is too expensive.
@youreverypicture38773 жыл бұрын
It needs to be real silk satin. Poly satin doesn't work in the same way, sorry - poly satin is no good for your hair 🙏

XD Now the 2 that are forever stained purple are mine, and the ones that are still (mostly) white are my husband's. I also got the sleep mask (in black), and while it would've been nice to be able to adjust the size, it's still really good.

Oh if you haven’t plz give your thoughts on those completely rubber hair ties. I personally hate them because they hurt to take out of my hair and usually get stuck in it.

I’m not personally a fan of anything that sticks to the hair too much. The invisibobble coily ones work fine for me because they don’t seem to tug on my hair too much, but anything that’s like a rubberband I personally avoid.

Ahhh I almost had a panic attack when I thought I got the bobble one stuck in my hair. An easy trick I learned it stretch it ALL THE WAY OUT if it feels like it’s stuck. The hair kinda untangles itself and falls through. Make sure it’s stretched to no more waves.

Merry Christmas! That is definitely still on the list. I just need to find the right video topic for it where it makes sense.

What is the pH for olaplex N.0? I assume that you must’ve tested it? And what happened to new wash I’m very confused on your current hair routine and what you like to use to wash it! An updated video would be amazing! 💕
@SarahIngleOfficial3 жыл бұрын
I assume that Olaplex No 0 probably has a pretty high pH. My guess is that a big part of its purpose is to swell the hair to make it easier for molecules to get inside the hair shaft and reach the part of the hair that they’re designed to help. That’d be a case where a high pH could ultimately be good once you completed the treatment - but during the process you’d want to be extra careful with it while it’s extra swollen and fragile.

You can actually do lash lifts at home. They also have eyebrow lifts for the feathered look. I havent tried them yet but I've seen them on Amazon.

Would love it if you can get into the custom shampoo and conditioner brand called Function of Beauty. I had started using it for over a year and worked great until O changed the formula by one thing and then my scalp started to feel itchy and build up started to happen. I had to use Head and Shoulders for a little while to make it stop. I wonder if you can shed some light on that and look into the kind of ingredients they use?

I would love to hear your opinion on silicones! I’m a fine haired low density wavy/curly and my fine haired wavy high density daughter are looking for a routine to keep her hair from loosing density like I have. She is turning 10, and I’m also letting her go full Rapunzel-so your tips are helpful as she finds her own look. Also, have you tried Curlsmith bond salve, I use in place of Olaplex because it works the same w/ 2x the amount.

Is it bad to massage your head with that scrubby thing in the shower. Do you feel your causing friction on your head and possibly causing breakage to the top hairs that are being rubbed against.?
@SarahIngleOfficial4 жыл бұрын
Some friction is necessary to clean your scalp. You still don’t want to rip through your hair and be really aggressive with it just like you wouldn’t want to do that with your fingers. I like the scrubber because the silicone glides really easily, and the pokers are still sturdy enough to do the job. I do sometimes still use just my hands tho. It’s more like what I’m in the mood for and what kind of cleansing product I’m using.

Okay, so the heat is bad for your hair, but what about cold? How damaging is it? Or does it affect hair at all? Was there anything you read about it from a scientific perspective? Love what you’re doing!
