I think us KZbin watchers get spoiled by the big budget channels which make these swaps looks like cake and that only take like a couple of months. I totally get this was no small job with everything being custom and all. I don't blame you for taking a break when it became too much for one person. I actually think the transmission was a good choice for what it's worth since now you have 6 gears and it won't blow up when your pushing 500-600bhp. Good luck with this car bro, it's definitely a special piece 👍

Love to see 240 content for a long time! Also i love the perfectionism you put in all of your projects. (thorougly cleaning even every single fastner and all!) Thats great, but i know at least in my case, perfectionism can also be quite stressfull, when you are not satisfacted in almost anything you do, and dont want to even start something, if you couldn finish it perfectly. Good Luck with 240 build, it will be worth your effort! Also 240SX is why i once subscribed! 😎👍

I've been watching since way before these resto-mod vids, and I have to say youre killin it man the 240SX is by far the best project car series ive watched on youtube. You go through everything with detail and finesse. The stock-like interior is SUPER baller especially the factory stitched shifter. Move at your own pace and itll come out as a great restored vehicle.

So... basically everything the car wizzard said about swapping and so-called "kits" is true then?
@benbauer12575 жыл бұрын
What did he say
@imnota5 жыл бұрын
Obviously, a kit that has been made to work with an rb, an rb trans and an s13 subframe will only fit with that combo and won't with a cd009 and a skyline subframe... Like y'all are lacking common sense and blame it on the kit.

@JoseRivera-ym3wj5 жыл бұрын
This video just shows that engine swaps are NOT a plug-n-play deal. Research takes time. Sourcing and making parts work takes time and money. Trying to make the drivetrain work and able to be an enjoyable ride without sacrificing important readouts takes time and money. Changing direction regarding which parts to use takes time and money. Even doing a totally stock CA or SR swap, which is a factory engine swap that's really straightforward, needs the ECU and harness to actually make it work. All that aside, this series of videos is a learning experience for you and the viewers who has a swap in mind. And this is a real-world as it gets. No project is just done in a short amount of time. I will leave with this: and old-school technique to resolve oil return issues would have been porting and polishing the oil return passages on the cylinder head, making the oil easier to drain from the head. It could be done at home with a dye grinder, but it would require a steady hand and cleaning the head after the job is done. So that oil return kit is a good alternative. Just try to pull the braided line away from the starter with worm clamps as if it were a metal ziptie. An S-chassis owner's best friend is zipties. Good luck on getting the engine started, finishing this and other projects, and enjoy your new home.

Things always take longer than you think, especially when you do things right, like you are and with the attention to detail you employ with all the builds. Impatience invariably leads to disaster. As for stressing over the frequency of these videos, do them when ever you can and hopefully it won't turn into a chore. Yeah fitting the CD trans in that car is a pain in the ass with any motor lol, as well as “made to fit” kits that never fit.
