It is ok not to enjoy everything after first listen. After few listens you notice more details and then wtf it is brilliant

Good stuff. I'm a new Opeth fan. Listened to them a few months back because Jinjer are big fans, then realised they were playing Bloodstock. Got tickets and loved it. The moral - Jinjer are always right

Very glad that you find Opeth, it's a journey you have missed. About Porcelain Heart, it is a great song but don't pick the music video because it is a SomekindofEditversion.. I'm not sure if there is anything better version available but you can always count on audio version, in this case. Otherwise there are plenty of quality versions on YT. My personal favourites are The Moor (audio), When (Roundhouse Tapes version) and Deliverance (Lamentations livedvd version).

Been an opeth fan since the 90’s. I saw them live about twenty years ago with the band 3 opening. Amazing show.

opeth moon above sun below And also, i enjoyed your reaction very much. The song i have recommended is after Mikael Åkerfeldt stopped growling and the band went full progg! :D

🔥🔥❤Opeth❤🔥🔥 Thanks for this one! There are so many you might enjoy, so I'm looking forward to when it happens. I gave a small list on your 1st Opeth video, (§1) so I'll hold off for adding more...for now.

Listen to "River" next. It really shows their versatility and probably the only song that sounds like it in their library.

Love Opeth as well as your honesty man! Progressive stuff do need more listens to allow full enjoyment. But maybe that won't really make it for you either - and then that's that. Stay honest above all! ❤️

This song is great, but it's always better with a new band to first listen to the studio recordings, and then go live, because you can't really get to know a song from live recordings as well, however good it is.

Ghost of Perdition is definitely not my favorite, but it is a great intro to Opeth as a whole. Really anything from "My Arms, Your Hearse" (1998) to "Watershed" (2008) you cannot go wrong with. For individual songs, I highly highly highly recommend "Blackwater Park," "The Moor," and "Deliverance." Great video as always, Mr. Braindead!

Maybe some people were shitposters, but after 40 years, I will stand behind this statement: the metal community is the most open-minded collective of wonderful people. Like any group, there's always some buttplugs.

Oh and I totally get you on the "I liked a good 8 minutes of this 10 minute song" ... they have like songs with 4 minute outtros which the prog elites really like and I feel ready to take a nap :D

hey, there's a band that isn't even gonna come out until 2028 ... how come you haven't heard all their songs yet? what kind of loser hasn't already heard all the things all at once?! 🤣🤣🤣 on a more serious note: i vaguely remember when these guys first came out, but was in my "categorically-against screams/growls" phase. just rediscovered them at the start of this year, and am completely hating former-me for missing out for so long. for me, the fill the niche of "sorta Dream Theater-ish, but slightly heavier and with intermittent harsh vocals". 👍 (i'm late enough to the party that i gotta try to fit them in somewhere like that)

I don’t like Porcelain Heart. You might want to pick a different song.
