So , obviously speak with a tax professional, but I can point you in a few directions that are beneficial to someone in my position. As an American , the foreign earned income exclusion is one thing. Spend less than 30 days per year in the US and your first $110k are complexly tax free. Secondly , look into something called the Beckham Plan (after David Beckham) which helps essentially the Spanish side, tax treaties, 0 etc. I combine both of these things , with my international accountant who has set up a plan. It works for me. Besides that, you would technically qualify for Spanish tax if you live here more than 6 months per calendar year and the capital gains tax is something in the 20-30% range(look up the short term)
