Thank you for your video! We've been struggling with shades of white for the whole house and initially planned to paint everything lexicon quarter and realised it was too clinical. Luckily we came across your video and tried Casper White Quarter for the walls and it looks amazing next to the LQ trims. Thanks a lot!

Hi Laura, Thanks very much for your videos. We have found them very helpful. We have a new build, beach house on the mid north coast of NSW. We have plenty of windows for breezes and light with a light timber floor. We like the look of White Exchange Half (rather than quarter) with with Lexicon quarter trim. Would this combination work?

Yes this will work beautifully! It has a great contrast and is a perfect combination especially if you have lots of light :) good luck with your new build!

Very informative Laura! I have used natural white on walls and plan on painting all trims/skirts/doors vivid white. My dilemma is what white to use on the 3m wide polyurethane doors? It is a dark room in a Victorian house. Please help!

Hi Laura. Your video is by far the best that I have found. I am confused between Natural White and Whisper White. I have a modern 90's, 2-story home, not much character with similar to terracotta-colored floors in the living room. The living room is large with a high sloped ceiling and with a feature/window wall which I'm wanting to do in Domino to give a dramatic contrast. This room doesn't get much light (while the upstairs bedroom does)....currently the walls are painted in lexicon quarter which throws off any ugly blue. I am wanting to steer away from any blue and so am deciding between Natural white or Whisper white. Can you advise please or steer me on the right track? Yes, all these whites can be very confusing! Thank you.

Hi Laura. Love your videos. Thank you for sharing your knowledge! I only wish I watched them earlier. I just painted a new build lexicon quarter and regret it. I cannot stand the blue undertone as you mention! I am going to repaint the interior to natural white. Do you think it would be ok on just the walls and leaving lexicon quarter on the ceiling or should I be repainting the ceiling to natural white as well?

Hi Laura i have a cream kitchen, redish countertop but id love to change them to wooden counter tops. what would be a good paint for the walls?
@lauradensem2294

Hi there, sounds like a lovely change the timber benchtops will look lovely. Usually with cream cabinets it’s best to go for more of a beige tone on the walls that’s deeper than a white? Something like Dulux grand piano half could look nice depending you the creaminess of your cream! Hog bristle palette might even be a good option too. If you are after a white Stowe White or Berkshire White tend to work best with existing creams depending on the cream. Good luck! Thank you so much Laura. Your post was just what I needed to get started with my kitchen family room makeover. I’m changing my kitchen by replacing wooden bench tops with grey/white veined stone. I feel like white exchange quarter is a great match for the stone colour and intend on painting cabinetry, doors, skirtings and architraves in this colour. My floors are 70s wood and the room has light entering from the north. I would love a warm colour on the walls and wonder which shade of beige you suggest to work best with the white exchange quarter trims ? I do prefer a warmer feel to my room but hate yellow tones.

Hi Laura! Great video. Thank you! I am going to use Natural White in our home. I love it, and the existing plantation shutters are in a very similar shade. I'm considering using it everywhere! Walls, trims, cornus, ceiling. Do you think using it in the cornus/ceiling is a good way to go? Or do you like the contrast of ceiling white? Thank you!

Hi Laura, very informative video, thank you. What do you think of dulux casper white quarter for trims and cornices, natural white for ceiling, royal beige quarter walls? Thank you
@lauradensem2294
@lauradensem2294 4 жыл бұрын
Hi Albert, I would recommend just doing ceiling White on your ceiling as it will contrast better with beige royal quarter, which is a gorgeous colour!! I think it will look good with either natural white on the trim/doors for a warmer look? Or Casper white quarter trim/doors for a crisper look.

I find that most of Dulux whites have strong yellow, pink, green or blue undertones. I wouldn't go near Lexicon and it's half and quarter variants at more light blue grey than a white. Natural White has a pinkish purple undertone. Out of the dozens of Dulux white samples I've done Casper White Half and Snowy Mountain Half are by far the best and most neutral whites that don't look yellow, pink, green or blue.

I've painted most rooms in my unit White Exchange Quarter with Lexicon Half as the trim and door colour, and I'm very happy with the result. I love the contrast that the Lexicon Half provides. It gives the illusion of the wall being a deeper shade than it is, without actually using a darker colour. The White Exchange Quarter looks modern and has a bit of warmth without developing a yellow or greenish tint like Whisper White did in my previous home. To me it looks best in direct sunlight but WEQ never looks too cool/bluish on grey, overcast days.

Hi Laura. I just watched your video as I am trying to choose a white for kitchen (north facing) and adjoining lounge (south facing). I have some samples including Casper white quarter and white polar quarter. What tone would you describe white polar quarter?

Nat G Hi Nat, Sorry I just found this email, white polar quarter is a warm white with a yellow/brown undertone. It’s warm and light :) I hope your kitchen colours are going well!

Hi Laura, I love your vids! I’m currently trying to find a white and it’s the hardest thing I’ve ever had to do lol. I have a darkish 80s house that I want to brighten up and give the place I nice facelift. I’ve been leaning towards natural white to keep it safe but am scared of beige and yellow dirty looking walls. My colors are grey, white greens and navy’s. What would you recommend? Will natural white make the walls look yellow? Thanks so much xx

Hi Megan, Thank you very much, I’m really enjoying making them and I am glad they are helpful. I really love Natural White, if it is a darkish house it shouldn’t look to creamy or beige, natural white tends to cool down when it doesn’t have much natural light. I would suggest trying a large area with a sample pot but Natural white is a great choice and I would even recommend doing vivid white on your doors and trim? This will lighten it up even more and give a little contrast? If you are not keen for contrast though you could do the trim and doors in natural white to match the walls? If you do find natural white is too creamy when you try a sample then you could give Dulux ‘white exchange quarter’ strength a go. Good luck Megan! I’m sure it will look lovely.

homely can also mean an unattractive person.......I would definitely not use that word when describing home decorating because of the dual meaning.
