Very helpful, thank you. What is your opinion on Timeless and Jasmine white ?
@NicoleSage Жыл бұрын
You’re very welcome! I love Timeless, it’s warm but not such a strong yellow undertone as some of the others, I like Jasmine White too although it has a slightly stronger yellow undertone, out of the two I would choose Timeless 😊

Excellent video. What colour would you choose in a kitchen with a dark green kitchen cabinets with goldish handles? Room size is small/medium? Also, should i just use a normal white matt for kitchen ceiling kr use the same color as walls?
@NicoleSage10 ай бұрын
Thanks! I would go for something like Dulux Moon Shimmer, it actually has light green undertones which would make it workable in the space; amzn.to/42OWspl or for something warmer, look at Frosted Dawn too amzn.to/3I0Yk4D - always get testers beforehand so you can see how they feel in the room as they do look different online. As these are off-whites, I would take the same colour up and onto the ceiling. Hope that helps!

I have a north facing space, very dark and dingy hallway and bedrooms. The light bulb is warm colour. Do you think I should go for summer linen or Timeless? I’m scared that summer linen looks magnolia and isn’t timeless if you know what I mean. Would love your opinion x
@NicoleSage6 күн бұрын
Morning, yes - these two colours have a yellow undertone so can feel overly yellow sometimes. I really like natural hessian for a warm, cosy white, swapping your light bulb to daylight bright in a hallway can help as well with it feeling dim and dark. I would personally grab a tester pot of a couple you like, paint an A4 sheet of paper and move around in the room so you can see how the colour performs with the light during different times of the day, best way to see how it reacts in your space. Nicole x

They are all very cool whites yellow is close to green so can be quite cold even though it’s yellow.
@NicoleSage10 ай бұрын
Yellow or red based is generally always best if you want something warmer than a bright white or whites with grey undertones, that’s why I always recommend testing in your home before purchasing as they look different in different lights.

Dulux tend to only have yellow based whites, have a look at Farrow and Ball Pointing, Dimity or Joa's White@@helenalovelock1030

After much deliberation, I’m going for Summer Linen for my walls in the hallway, landing and stairs, which shade of white would you use on the woodwork? I would prefer an eggshell type finish rather than gloss, any suggestions welcome
@NicoleSage6 ай бұрын
Love summer linen! Yes - always go for eggshell or matt on skirting, if you want a classic white to match the ceiling too I'd just go for Pure Brilliant White eggshell. I will also add that going for something a couple of shades darker on the skirting and woodwork will bring definition to the space so this is also an option, this is a more modern approach but depends what style you're looking for :)

Hi - we are doing wainscotting in our flat. We like Jasmine White for the top 2/3. Struggling to select which colour for the bottom 1/3. We want to keep things clean and white. Seems that the top 2/3 should be lighter and bottom 1/3 should be darker. Appreciate your thoughts. Thank you.
@NicoleSage9 ай бұрын
Hi! Traditionally the darker shade is at the bottom as a lighter shade naturally draws the eye up giving there illusion of a bigger space, if it's in a transitional space a darker shade is also more practical at the bottom, however, many people switch it round the other way too. You could pair with bright white if you want to keep things light and bright, hope that helps! Nicole

Great video I have a lounge dining room and a big kitchen extension want to paint it all white cotton vs brilliant white. Thoughts?
@NicoleSage11 ай бұрын
Thanks for watching! White cotton has a slight grey undertone, if you have a sunny, very light space then I would go for it. If it is North facing or darker in nature, best to stick to Brilliant White as any type of grey undertone will make the space feel darker, hope that helps!

Please what to pair with pale walnut to brighten the space, from normal dulux range?
@NicoleSageАй бұрын
If you want something really bright and which will make the space feel larger, look at Moon Shimmer. Alternatively, Timeless is a nice off-white which is lighter in tone than pale walnut.

@@terokasouls Thanks for letting me know! Okay, so I would go for a something warm and neutral here so balance with the wooden tones you have. For Dulux paints, look at Moon Shimmer (light green undertone and one of their brightest whites), Timeless, Fine Cream or Natural Hessian for a more rustic neutral. Do get a tester pot of your favourites and test on an A4 sheet of paper so you can move around the space to see how they feel, hope that helps!

hi thankyou for your videos. I've a very dark hallway but was hoping to find a white with a just a hint of beige which seems to be in for 2024? any advice or a colour to look at please
@NicoleSage Жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching and apologies for my delayed response, warm, modern neutrals are what we're leaning towards in 2024 so Egyptian Cotton definitely, if you want something with a tint of beige have a look at Fine Cream, Absolute White and Jasmine White, thanks, Nicole x

Hi , would colour would you recommend for a narrow kitchen , with light grey kitchen cabinets?
@NicoleSage5 ай бұрын
Morning, definitely keep things bright with a warm white with a slight yellow undertone that will lift the grey - look at Almond White, Timeless, and Moon Shimmer if you want something a bit closer to a bright white - it has light reflecting particles so makes the space feel and look bigger than it is, hope that helps!

Hi. I bought a sample of white mist and it looks like a very light gray to me. I have a small, darker hall. I like the Scandinavian style, will this color match? I don't want colors that tend to be yellow. What else do you recommend??Can I use Dulux kitchen paint or regular Dulux Easy Care paint in a busy hall? Does the matt kitchen one have an eggshell coating?
@NicoleSage6 ай бұрын
Yes, white mist does have grey undertones so can feel like a light grey. I would personally avoid this shade if you already have a dark hall as it will make it feel cold and darker. Most Dulux warm shades do have a yellow undertone, so I'd maybe look at something like Moon Mist which has a green undertone, it is part of the Dulux range of their light + space paints. Colours that have light reflective particles which will help to make smaller spaces seem bigger. Definitely worth getting a tester beforehand though :) In a hallway, I would use Dulux easy care rather than kitchen paint.

It has a slight grey undertone to it, so this may feel too cold in an east facing room. Best to grab a tester pot first and try on an A4 sheet of paper so you can see how it looks throughout the day

Argh! I wish I had discovered you sooner. I have a dark hallway with beige marble style floor tiles which were there when I bought my house. I can't afford to change them. Then there's 3 flights of stairs and two landings which have beige carpet. The walls were magnolia and banisters stained dark brown. It was so boring, but due to finances I had to live with it for 17 years. A few weeks ago I finally got walls, doors and skirtings painted brilliant white. My intention was to get grey carpet, but I have to keep the floor tiles. Now that I've seen your video I don't know what colour carpet to choose! I don't want beige or brown. Cream is lovely, but not practical to keep clean. With so much area to do I'm on a tight budget so I don't think I can afford 80/20 and salesmen are trying to persuade me to get synthetic. I need an unbiased opinion on carpet type and colour please.
@NicoleSage2 күн бұрын
Morning! For the floor tiles - how about adding a long runner rug here? It will break up the monotony of the tiles and bring some warmth and a tactile feel to the hallway. Carpet is a difficult one as I personally don't like grey because it makes a room feel instantly darker (unless you lean into a lighter grey) - I tend to lean into sandy/beige wool carpet, natural fibres are generally more hardwearing and have a nicer look than synthetic. Herringbone style is great too because it disguises marks (if they occur) more than a standard carpet, here is an example of what I mean; flooringbynature.co.uk/shop/carpet/cumbrian-weave-wool-carpet/?attribute_pa_colour=helvellyn&D+-+General+Flooring+PMAX+-+Sales&hsa_acc=3954628568&hsa_cam=20553396687&hsa_grp=&hsa_ad=&hsa_src=x&hsa_tgt=&hsa_kw=&hsa_mt=&hsa_net=adwords&hsa_ver=3&gad_source=1&gbraid=0AAAAApGHzLwLcQRBr5RQVL_rycnhfHwQ2&gclid=CjwKCAiAm-67BhBlEiwAEVftNqVCtOLqEBq2Y-zCk1rUXCQSdMCb6fstTEP1Hj-C5D2n06ImlVZzdRoCYRcQAvD_BwE
