Quick question: was there a lightning rod I missed you going over for the decorated or nondecorated options? Main reason I ask is for the protection of the villages to prevent the rare one off of a lightning strike turning them into a witch if you don't put a roof over their heads.

I hate cow crushers because they are inefficient and painfully malproductive. I hadn't thought of the colliding aspect. I'll add that to my list. Edit: That despawn timer is GENIUS.

OMG, I love the cow launcher and meat grinder! I made a super simple early game farm that worked really well. I just have an 11x15 pen (size doesn't really matter) and bred cows until I had a ton. I can just run around and aim at head height to hit the adult cows, or stand on bottom slabs 1 block higher than the ground, or crouch on top slabs one block off the ground. The top slabs give the cows 1.5 blocks of room so they can move under them. The bottom slabs won't let the cows get under them, but the babies can. I have a row of bottom slabs over the fences on one side and a couple rows of them jutting into the pen. That way the babies can follow me and don't get crowded out by the cows. I open the fence gate to let the babies into a simple water stream that dumps them in a kill chamber which is just two hoppers and should be two blocks deep (only made it one and didn't bother changing it, but they do try to get back up into the water stream sometimes). Go do something else for a while and when I come back later I kill the now grown cows in the kill chamber with looting and breed a new batch. A cycle with a stack of wheat takes about a minute and with looting 3 gives many times the drops I was getting from two cow crushers. I was going to make 4 kill chambers so I could kill one batch and refill it and move on to the next every 5 minutes, but I had so much loot with just my lazy every now and then use of the one that I never needed more. Fire aspect doesn't cook all the meat (maybe due to my water stream being too close and the knocked cows being hit into the water?), but that's just more xp from my forges fed with lava from 9 cauldrons, but that's another story.

One thing you can do with a sweeping sword is use exclusively crits to harvest- crits become single target afaik from the realm I made with no real automated cow farm. My leather plans later game switch to piglin bartering tho.

You can use looting in the first farm if you jump when you hit each mob, crits can't do sweeping

Cool cool. You could also slightly modify it and use it as the most inefficient mushroom farm ever 😂 One question i still have is how do you know when to start the timer, so that it is correctly aligned with the spawncycle?

you start the timer as soon as you see mooshrooms spawn. if you are not getting any spawns after about a minute (which is a few passive spawn cycles), then the timer was turned on too late. Just turn the timer off, wait for mooshrooms to spawn, and then turn on the timer. You can turn on the timer as soon as you see mooshrooms. Or, if you have carpet mod, you can look to see when they are in the passive mob cap and then turn on the timer

Already tried it, not worth it in a regular vanilla world: 1.8 emeralds/hr. Or maybe there's an upcoming use for a fox farm that I'm not disclosing yet...

why should you make a cow farm, hoglin farms are way easier and so much better rates. Hoglins drop porkchop which is just as good as steak. Hoglins also drops leather, same as cow.
