I was lucky enough to have spent approximately 4 years backpacking around the world, this brought back soo many memories. The number of different people you come across, in all walks of life. I have also used an Amtrak Pass and Indrail Pass. Rail travel definitely shows you the world. See the world to broaden your horizons.

Thank you for this video! Im planning to do something similar in June/July. The chapter on loneliness was helpful as thats what i am most afraid of battling with the solo travel, your honesty has made it far easier to have realistic expectations which is super important. Cheers!

Istanbul seems awsome. I once arrive Seoul at 3 am , without WIFI, couldn't get into my hostel, and no one speaking English. An old man who works in the convenience store tried to help us in Korean, somehow we knew he is trying to locate the nearest jjimjilbang (24 hours Korean sauna.) After we got lost several times, we found that jjimjilbang by following some guys that looks a little bit drunk. (And that's the moment I think I should learn Korean.)

Would've been a lot simpler and easier to just book a Flixbus direct from Thessaloniki to Sofia, which would've saved you a LOT of hassle and would probably cost less than how much you paid for the taxi that little bit at the border.

Thanks Dylan! I had a very vague idea of which countries and places I wanted to visits but I didn't really plan anything before, I mostly just book my hostels one or two nights before and didn't have any major problems :)

Hey, Ben . I'll be in Europe and I want to be sure and you look like the one who can give me the answer. Can I just show the barcode train ticket from my phone in Europe? Or Is it necessary to have it on paper printed?
@drunkonlife. Жыл бұрын
Are you asking about a digital interrail ticket or just a normal digital train ticket? For normal train tickets most people just use their phone but for the actual interrail ticket I think it's still a physical copy (although they might have gone digital in the last few years)
@firstneverfollows9988 Жыл бұрын
@drunkonlife. I'll have the eurail/interrail on my phone so my question is can I just show the barcode ticket and they will scan it? or they will not accept it and they need it on paper? And sometimes I'll buy tickets online from apps like trainline so can I just show the barcode from my email or I need to print it in paper?
@drunkonlife. Жыл бұрын
@@firstneverfollows9988 i think you should be fine with the phone ticket but it certainly won’t harm to print it out
