I wrecked the turbo on my 4.9L Ford.. and my transmission. Both get fixed in today's video. While the transmission was at the transmission shop, I replaced my broken 78mm turbo with a new VSR 72/65 billet turbo.

Hell yeah.! Your work ethic is great. Take motivation wherever you can get it. Anger...spite... Dosent matter. Initial excitement factor is always the time to pour it on. Riding momentum is the downhill snowball you want to be on. Awesome truck. !

Glad to see you got it straightened out. Enjoy that truck and it should keep rolling, can't kill those 300 l6's. Damn near bulletproof.

Ha! I spent 6 months cludging together a ZF 5 to an old Cummins V6 in a 1971 1 ton 4x4. I had the tranny professionally rebuilt, and it came back dry. I stored it for 6 months before it became part of the build and then lived in the truck dry. I got the engine fired up, adapted hydro boost brakes from a Silverado and plumbed the power steering, boy was I excited to get out on the road. I remembered to fill the tranny first! Turns out 4th gear synchro is stuck together 🤦♂️. Everything has to come apart now of course

Hi WPG, i have watched a few of your vids and love the truck. I got a '77 Ford F-150 I'm currently installing twin turbos in. I love the inline 6 with a turbo, sweet truck sir!

What exhaust housing ar size did you go with and what rpm does it spool?
@WastedPaycheckGarage2 жыл бұрын
.96ar. It doesn’t really take off until after 3000rpms but you can still build boost around 2200 if you load it up

Great work on that late nighter, get'er done! That was a great place to put a better matched turbo for your engines current airflow capabilities. Seems I remember one of your previous driving videos you mentioned she was a little slower on getting up to boost & wished for a quicker spooling turbo. Wish self- fulfilled! Thanks for sharing the good, the great & the ugly realities of a real DIY daily driver turbo system build. I respect your willingness to tackle an unusual & complicated build. It's turned out great & inspired other 300 I6 turbo builders! BTW, have you Power nations YT build series on a 300 I6 Ford from 88hp to over 500hp!! Awesome! Paul, from S. Central Tx.

good work. i discovered that hy trans is a better fluid than atf for the zf. i used napa universal with good result too. especially with older synchros. hy trans is yellow metal safe ive not tried hy gard but hear good things about it

And that's why you have a screen after the turbo to catch parts. My dad blew up his detroit 60 and didn't have a screen.
