It was great to see everyone at Adepticon this year. Always a great time. With the recent CGR change I feel like the game is in a VERY healthy spot right now. When Webs/Shield (not Gotg, Hellfire etc) is the finals match, you know things are in a good spot.

Great Video Nate. I liked your breakdown of the event and your list of takeaways. I have a question for you, but first let me explain my situation. I bought this game from a local game store last year. I got the game to try to teach to my youngest son, Riker. Riker is mentally disabled and he has a really hard time understanding board games and games in general. I thought that maybe his love of the Avengers and small scale cities would help to motivate him to learn how to play. I plan to teach him this game in steps and I think I can remove enough of the complexity that he might be able to learn the premise. My question for you - If you were going to teach someone only 5 rules from this game, what rules would you teach? I know that is a crazy request, but there is no way that I could teach Riker about Cover, LOS or superpowers at the same time as movement and dice rolling. Anyways, if you have time to break down your thoughts, I would appreciate hearing your feedback. God bless you Nate.

That is a tough one. I think you could have an enjoyable experience both for you and hopefully Riker by starting with just 3 core rules which could really be broken into 5 Move actions Attacks and Defense And Power (and how you get it) I think with an understanding of these 3 things you can recreate some cool superhero brawls. I hope this helps as a good starting point.

I agree on the FF part, a bit sad that they aren't in the game (yet?). But excited for Defenders and Midnight Sons getting buffed. Always happy for New Mutants, and I am extremely hyped for Apocalypse

I’d be surprised if the fantastic four models aren’t designed, play tested and locked. They are just waiting on a window for Disney to give em the green light. I honestly believe that they’ve had em for a while and have utilized mechanics for other models. Red Skull 3 and Ultron 2 both feel like they have abilities originally designed for Doctor Doom.
