They were silly money back in the day when new, i remember looking through the airgun world magazine as a 15 year old in 1985 & dreaming me being a leftie i remember it was an extra £100 for a leftie stock.

Well you won’t see adverts on my content like I said I’m not chasing the money, although they can put adverts on if they choose and there is nothing I can do about it! To me that’s unfair as I’m unmoneytised, I choose not to be because I detest adverts when watching content I spoils the experience for me.

Been looking forward to this and didn't disappoint👍..beautiful gun built to last and a great example of an heirloom rifle..Tyrolean style stocks are fantastic for cheek weld and eye relief, I use Renaissance wax (developed for use in museums) it will keep everything stock+metal work as is and protect it. You know I'm a springer fan and when it comes to the pleasure and joy of shooting it's a springer every time for me..top tips alway shoot of hand even when rested the all like to be held different, keep trigger depressed and head where it is till you see pellet strike and once you've cracked the how does the gun like to be shot code consistently stick to it..great stuff as always thanks Denny 👍👍

Thanks Steve as always mate I’m made up you enjoyed it, I’m not an expert by any means mate it’s just all muscle memory with me plus I’m shooting a right handed gun and I’m left handed mate so it’s not easy especially with such a stick as the Camargue, thanks for the tips on treatment and maintenance mate I know you love your springers mate. Have a great week mate and thanks again for your support as always mate. Top fella🙏🏻

That is a lovely traditional stock. £155 back in 1985 equates to around £480 now, so would have been a few months wages for a lot of people. Hope you continue to shoot and enjoy it.
@Ratsinthereticles15 күн бұрын
£156 to be precise 🤣 yes that was a lot of money back in that time mate I had a Webley sport held together with an old belt then I was 10 years old with an air gun but in them days every young lad had one on our estate we would have comps shooting match sticks with open sights! Not going to say I won ever! Thanks for watching.

Absolutely love that airarms, honestly I would probably send it off and get everything done , reblue the metal work , stock, internals ect , or maybe not 😅, I've read on the web the biggest problem with accuracy on tap Loaders is tap/barrel alignment, you appear to have no such problem, I had a webley osprey as a kid growing up and a bsa airsporter and a sterling hr81 among others , great video mate I really enjoyed it
@Ratsinthereticles15 күн бұрын
Hi Peter thank you for watching this 30 min video I really appreciate it, yes the accuracy of this old boy is great, I’m guessing it’s the barrel weight but not 100% as I’m no expert. Sounds like you had/have some great old springers mate! In a world of PCP modern airguns they can’t get near them for accuracy etc but we must remember that they all come from these old boys and that’s what I try to hit on in the video. Thanks again mate .
@PiperX1X15 күн бұрын
Hey up Denny that Hardcastle apple looks well on you fella. That’s a cracking proper old school springer and hits with a thud too, making me think to get my old Webley tracker out for an outing when the weather gets a bit better. Yeh pal it’s a barrel weight same as my tracker, but without getting mine out I’m not sure if mine has a grub screw I think it’s held on with internal rubber washers. It’s funny the name of the isn’t etched on the gun, they usually are as a rule. My tracker I’ll never part with that, it’s been included in my will so a certain lucky lad will be receiving it after my day.
@Ratsinthereticles15 күн бұрын
Hi my mate, thank you I really enjoyed that bowl with your blend of lovely tobaccos you kindly sent to me Johnathan you are a gentlemen in every sense of the word mate. As for the old springer I think I’ve inspired a few of the lads to get there springers out for a good old session and that’s brilliant, we are all here to help and inspire each other! It was Pete who inspired me to get a move in with mine as he has an outstanding collection of old springers and let me tell you he can shoot! But he’s very modest and I love that! Yes I was thinking it’s not a suppressor it’s a weight with out doubt. Thanks again my mate.

@@Ratsinthereticles Sorry Denny, All my guns are .22. Just fitted a Vortek kit to my thirty five year owned HW80. What an improvement. Gun never been dismantled before so time for some maintainance.
@2474503712 күн бұрын
@@Ratsinthereticles Prosport is the closest you ever get to a factory tuned gun outta the box. both calibre amazing.22 is usually much nicer to shoot than 177 with springers, much more smoother shot cycles.

I still use my MK2 Webley Vulcan from the early 80's for hunting rabbits. It still produces 11.59 ft lbs after all these years and has shot many, many 10's of thousands of pellets. I clean and maintain it well, and it still looks virtually new. I'm sure most of the modern PCP's will be leaking air from every seal and struggling to punch holes, even in paper targets, in 40+ years.
@Ratsinthereticles13 күн бұрын
The V2 was a beast my mate had the same gun I had the standard Vulcan and then got the Omega. I agree mate the old springers are standing the test of time and proving beyond any doubt that they’re built to last. Thanks for watching the video.

I've got a Khamsin sidelever with walnut thumbhole stock. They're nice rifles, I think you're right to leave it original, just wipe over the metal with an oily rag to remove fingerprints and protect against rust.
@Ratsinthereticles15 күн бұрын
It’s practically the same gun I think just a different stock I’m sure yours shoots the same mate. The condition of the rifle came to my like this years ago sadly looks like it’s been put away wet many years ago I always clean my rifles down after use out doors mate, we all should. Thanks for watching the video and taking the time to leave a nice comment. 🙏🏻
@Beesa1014 күн бұрын
@@Ratsinthereticles Yeah, it's more or less the same gun. There are loads of airguns with DIY refinish jobs but tbh unless done well it can take away from the look and value of being original. I saw a Webley Vulcan that someone had spray painted black, aagh! A 'patina' from age and use isn't a bad thing. I've tried some pipe tobaccos and quite like 'St Bruno'.

Yes I’ve seen some terrible work on some lovely rifles in my time! My way of thinking is leave it original, I had a Webley omega in 1988 I was 12 it was nearly as big as me the person I sold it to painted it in camo effect I was shutter when I seen it! I’ll never forget that feeling coz I loved that rifle but moved on to a Hw85 I think it was ? Any way thanks for watching and commenting mate, enjoy your pipe with the st Bruno.
