Hey man it’s great to see your progress!! I’m getting started to transition from rotors over to fixed wing… I LOVE flying helicopters but the lifestyle just doesn’t make any sense when compared to what’s being offered on the fixed wing side.

how much do CFIs make? Does the flight school take a cut?

Depending if your a employee or contractor. Employees make less but normally get more hours and contractors are the opposite. Schools normally take a cut of your pay.

Looking back,would you have liked to join the USAF? They get amazing training and usually fast track to commercial airlines quickly because of their experience.

At West Air can you be assigned to the line where you are done after only 4 hours with enough seniority?

I don’t think any of the rings runs are that short. There are some runs where you work 4 hours and then your on standby, often with no extra work.
