I''m working on instrument now, long road ahead, and all the training I have planned out through CPL (in 12 months) is through a very small local flight school at the smallest paved runway in PA. Is there any hiring benefit you've seen from training at a bigger flight school like ATP? Like would the carrier rather see that vs backwoods flying? Do they like the structure that's built into those schools or are the hours the hours no matter who you're flying with?

You are a true inspiration on so many levels! It's been truly amazing watching your journey from a Greyhound Bus Driver all the way up to Part 121 First Officer on the 767! I know in thirty years or so you'll retire in the left seat of a major carrier wide body or or chief pilot if you so desire! In your off time you should seriously consider giving back to the community by mentoring, lecturing, or teaching the new generation! Myself as a twenty year Greyhound Driver I've enjoyed the majority of my time here and the thirty states I've been to! Keep on chasing the dream and staying focused! There are so many out there in the background cheering you on!

Thank you for this. Are you able to go over the path towards cargo flying. I am 41 and studying towards instrument rating as of right now. Something about cargo that makes me think it is a less headache prone field. Touch on path and financials aspects of cargo vs passenger and outlook of both paths - if you can.
How many flight hours were you required to have in order to get hired for your previous job flying the Cessna 208 Grand Caravan on your FedEx feeder routes? Was it 1500 hours and your ATP certificate, 500 hours, or something in between?
