Nice video, Gert, with some grounded choices where you lived/were born & now live, so it's always cool to see that. Some whiskies there I know, some I don't, it's normal not to know all, but curious about that Filliers (looking forward to your video), and I'm sorry I'm missed them at Whisky Live Paris 2024 where they came for the very first time (but I'm sure though that Menno & you will keep me posted on what I should not miss). "Too many whiskies, too little time"...Again Cheers to that New 2025 Year, buddy ! 👍🥳🥃

The whisky's that I always have on my shelf are Bushmills 10, Oban 14, Talisker 10, Ardbeg 10, Teeling Single malt and Redbreast 12 ( I know that are 6😅). Last year I was at a whiskyfestival near my hometown and tasted another great Belgium whisky; Belgium Owl Single malt 5y. Their distillery lies not far from where I live in the Netherlands near Liege,

This is always something I struggle with a bit, as variety is so important to me. Of course, I do tell people that I have been serially buying Laphroaig 10 since July 1982 and have lost count of the number of bottles, but I have only bought multiples of ten others and I've only bought three bottles of one: Clynelish 18 Retro Label for The Whisky Exchange (I finished one, have one at home and another is my current Whisky Club bottle at Dornoch Castle). Of the ones where I am on my second bottle, those I might consider replacing in future are: Kavalan Solist (Vinho Barrique), Pittyvaich 12 year old (Flora & Fauna), Kirin Whisky Single Malt 18 year old (my previous Dornoch Castle Whisky Club bottle) and possibly either Ardbeg (Gordon & Macphail Connoisseurs Choice) Distilled 1974 Bottled 1996 or Convalmore 36 year old Distilled 1977 Bottled 2013, but those two are ridiculously expensive now... If we were just talking distilleries, the 5 I have most bottles from are: Laphroaig, Wolfburn, Arran (Lochranza), Clynelish and Eden Mill, but that might say more about my 'completist' attitude than anything else!

@@andrewbutler7681 variety is definitely the spice of life. I have so many friends that might stick to 2 or 3 whiskies. They want the same thing every time. Price seems to be the biggest influence when deciding what to buy. You have mentioned some very interesting whisky and it tickles the curiosity. Thanks for always pointing me in what to look for next. Happy new year

Thanks for the entertaining video. The Laphroaig Sherry Oak 48ABV is on the top of my 5 go to whiskys. So delicious. My other four are whiskys are Bunnahabhain 12, Glen Morangie 14, Jack Daniels Single Barrel Select and Old Forrester 100 proof. Are Belgium and South Africa big whisky drinkers? Thanks.
@WhiskyLoversSociety17 күн бұрын
Appreciate the positive feedback. Nice list. South Africa is definitely big whisky drinkers. Used to be more blended Scotch whisky but now they are getting more whisky on offer and a lot of specialty whisky shops opened up. Here is Belgium I think it is a little different culture of beer and other spirits. None of my son’s friends drink whisky. Whisky is very expensive in Belgium
