Whether or not you're still taking tips, here is my two cents. I am someone who has been playing guitar 2-3 years now, I have never taken a lesson and all my experience comes from rocksmith. I am well aware of where my skill level lies, as a very fast learner, I currently lie under the intermediate category, probably near the upper end. There are things people suggest over and over so I'll stick to more original advice to make you use your noggin, as well as some things you've definitely heard before that need to be reinforced in your head so you do not quit. 1. If you get frustrated, take a break. Whether or not it's because you think you sound bad, or you're not making progress: you are, always, as long as you are playing. 2. Play what you like to play. I skipped half the songs in the game completely because they were either bad songs or the style of playing just wasn't meant for me. If you learn songs you like, it will encourage you to keep going. It definitely feels great when you learn some of your favorite songs and you are able to play along to them. Also make sure to try different styles of music! I'd suggest to do all the rocksmith lessons to have the understanding of "techniques". The sooner you understand them, the better off you will be. Do them in order too so when you get something too hard, it halt's your progress until you are ready to move on, as one of the last lessons in the game (my favorite) is a killer tapping lesson. You're not gonna want to miss that. The lessons are also really good practice too. My next tip coincides with this one. 3. Try to imitate sound/tone. This is one you've probably not heard before, but I find that if you listen to a song you like, when you're in the process of learning it helps immensely if you copy that players tone and style. Albeit, this can be very difficult, but you don't have to get too into it. For example, learn your guitar. Your guitar specifically has 5 places to set your switch to, try those sounds. Here is a specific example, power chords and rock stuff sounds better a lot of the time on your bridge pickup (the one at the bottom of your guitar). Whereas for bohemian rhapsody, Brian May's sound can be imitated quite a bit if you changed to your neck pickup (the one closest to the neck) for both solos. You should also listen to the parts of a song, and how the tone of the guitar changes throughout, I noticed you had your standard distortion tone from your amp while playing nothing else matters when in the actual song that part is just clean with a chorus effect on top of it. It's the little things like that in which will help you become more accustom to things like your amp, and your guitar, which is no less than an extension of yourself. By trying to imitate someone's tone, whether it's just adding some reverb, switching which pickup you are using, or adjusting your amp settings completely, you learn the in's and out's of making your own sound. You will learn what you like and what you don't. If you keep playing bohemian rhapsody (a fantastic song to learn for all levels of play) and you copy their sound, as you progress you will start to hear it come together more and more, that will encourage you. Eventually you'll be switching to your neck pickup every time for that solo, and you'll blast your way through that bad boy and feel like a rock god. For your 60 days, you did a great job, so keep it going. Definitely don't put that guitar down. I hope you're proud of yourself for coming this far and I also hope that you plan to take it to much higher heights.

My advice would be stick to rhythm for the first 3 months, and only one song per week, learn via a play through, then learn each section individual. (Generally it takes me 50+ to 100+ play throughs to nail a song and start tweaking it to my own wants). Rhythm skills are invaluable and generally are under appreciated, right up until you figured the need for a melody/bare bones rhythm to carry your lead. Also the arcade is invaluable as warm up. Lesson wise, there ok, worth pushing through.

I kinda do the same thing. I'm doing r rhythm first for a while but I jump from different songs to keep me from getting bored. I spend four hours or something like that a day so yeah. I almost mastered symphony of destruction and trust. I'm also working on south of heaven. And as a Megadeth fan boy I of course bought all the Megadeth songs lol

I started with rhythm and got pretty good at changing chords fast but I needed practice moving up and down the neck faster and lead was good for that
@Emma-kz3zr
@Emma-kz3zr 4 жыл бұрын
@@huntersftw82 yep lead will certainly do that, once you've got the basics, it's then down personal preference, lead parts can be pretty sparse and rhythm parts can be mind numbing simply chug fest's occasionally. But you can only specialise in one.

I had Rocksmith 2012 and 2014 in the past, with a starcaster Stratocaster guitar. I want to be a lead guitarist, although I stopped long ago because I felt down and upset how I wasn’t making much progress, but I still want to get better, so I’m playing both versions. Right now, I’m working on chords, then scales after that.

looks pretty good. You are using riff repeater how you should, full dificulty but slowed down till u get it.. every video that i see with other peeps trying out rocksmith never slow down songs in it which sucks for them because they are missing out. you should check out major/minor scales, when you are whole stepping frets it helps to stretch a fret between your index and middle as seen in your bohemium rhapsody solo 2 on the D string 4 6 8 and then 6 8 10

Great job man. Honestly I just need to suggest you find some slower songs, pick up some 10 or 11 gauge strings and you need to try and loosen up. Im sure in the past 8 months you've made great progress but I personally still play the original and the 2014 edition. The original may h I nestly be the better learning tool for someone like you who "didnt really touch the games or tutorials" since it pretty much has a ca.paign where you practice and play setlists and then progress
