Congrats on the house! Your pronunciation in Japanese is spot on. You must speak it quite well which makes sense on how you’re able to navigate the challenges as a foreigner to own property in Japan. I’m a U.S. citizen born and raised on Okinawa but moved to the U.S. as a teen 40 years ago. Subscribed to your channel to follow your journey as many have. Good luck!

I've lived in Japan twice. I'd like to sell my house in the UK and move back to Japan.

How much do you have to pay annually for Property tax + City planning tax? I'm curious.

What an amazing property for shockingly low price.

That’s amazing! Really nice place for $6,000. Why so cheap? In the US you couldn’t buy an old mobile home for that price.

Seems like real estate isn’t as valuable there as it is in the usa. There are more places to live than people to live in those places 😅

I have a question, how is your immigration status? I mean if you have US citizenship, how long are you allowed to stay in Japan before having to go back to US soil? I'm interested in going back to Japan again after retirement so any information appreciated. Thanks!

Maybe u could retire there, im not sure. Japan seems hyper focused on incentivizing young foreigners to live there and help repopulate their country. But you might be surprised since new types of visas are starting to pop up. I recommend looking at the Japanese immigration website

Thanks for sharing Matt! Really looking forward to living in Japan as well, is it a rare chance to purchase a such great house with that price range or just being lucky in a rural area of Japan? Would it be possible to get more information from you by email or other means? Many thanks and appreciated , all the best 🎉

Why is it so cheap? You done a wonderful job with the renovation. In Australia, you could buy a shed without land. The cheapest houses here are rat infested, a pull down and for a couple hundred thousand.
