My 6th Gen LT1 Camaro-Best Bargain Ever! Review and Test Drive

My thoughts on the LT1 I've owned for a few months, and test drive! To me this is one of the best bargains of a car on the planet, all around!

Mine is a 17' SS 6 spd. These cars are so much fun I drive mine just to be driving with no particular place to go. I had a 5th Gen camaro befor this. Good car but this one is a step up. In the 70s I was driving 60s era muscle cars. This one tops them in overall fun factor because of the handling, performance and comfort, but thats to be expected with 50 years of technology advancement. Mine has been my daily Driver since 2017 and and 63k miles.

Grew up with the 60's and 70's muscle cars thanks to my dad, have a 78 W72 Trans Am 4 speed super t10 in the garage, love them all. But yeah these newer Camaro's certainly spoil you haha. Sorry about the late reply, youtube doesn't always notify me.

I've got a 2021 LT1 myself and have been absolutely floored by what a great car it is. Not just the power, but you can really feel how nimble the platform is. Not to mention, has a very smooth ride for what it is.

I just picked up my Summit White 2023 LT1 from the Dealer today! Just got home 1/2 an hour ago! What a Fantastic car at one Hell of a price! I gotta tell ya. I can't wait to break it in. Even at 3000 to 3500 rpms it is just incredible! I'm just hoping I don't get a bunch if tickets now. Been driving an F350 Dually since 2007! This is a nice driving kick ass car with a 6.2L V-8, Forget About It!!!

I have a 2022 LT1 with the 6 speed manual and I absolutely love the look and feel of this car. I put a larger spoiler and 285s on the back with 255s up front. This has greatly improved the handling ( not that is was bad before) on the highway. I hear many people complain about the visibility but if the mirrors are adjusted properly and the driver takes a little extra care it’s not that bad. I’m like you as I plan on keeping this car for awhile.

Absolutely agree, I don't see why people made such a huge deal about the visibility either lol, after a couple days I was very comfortable with it. Really a shame that the 6th gen is over, I still hold to that it's SUCH a great car all around, and feels like so much more than it's cost, thanks for the comment my friend, and have a great Christmas 😊🤝

I was back and forth between 2SS and LT1 and ultimately brought home my LT1 almost a month ago. I'm in Ohio as well, near Mentor so a few more weeks to go before I can get her out and enjoy it. I like videos like these. A couple spirited pulls and no loud music. Felt like I was along with you on the ride. Good job.

@@Feral80sKid I absolutely agree. It's a shame ICE engines are going away for (EV) technology that we don't fully have in place yet. I waited 5 mos for allocation at 3 dealerships and could not get one, so I found the closest thing to my build 2 hours away. I went with Sharkskin Gray but Summit White was my second choice. Are you a member of Camaro6 forums by chance?

I've had my 2017 2SS Krpton green since new. And my neighbors all hate it. I have a neighbor with a skyline gtr. Another with a Shelby cobra. Guy down the street has a jaguar f-type s. Guy behind me has an Audi R8. My camaro is the cheapest, but it's never lost to any of them. I also like having the fastest car in my work parking lot 😂

6 Gen alpha platform is the absolute best . Love your car equipped like it is reminds me of my 06 GTO available with 2 options automatic or manual and nothing else . It was light weight and 27 mpg on the interstate at 75 mph . Looking to buy a LZ1 in mystic red . Can’t decide which m manual or automatic. Love your car and attitude . It’s good to be happy with what you have

Great video, looking for a sports car in the 30 lows 30s to buy or maybe lease in the high 30s. Was considering a WRX bc of price, handling and manual. Test drove one, its fun for sure, but wife saw camaro in pharmacy lot and said she would drive that. I couldn't pivot fast enough. My first car was a 78 LT with a 305. Had a 99 with the 5.7. Hope to lease an LT1 by end of September or buy the V6. Still seems quick like my G37 just got rid of. Hoping for the LT1, (what a sound). Thanks for the video...well done!

I have a 2023 LT1 Convertible white with black top. The car is a beast with the 6spd. First weekend I had it , the State Patrol gave me a bullshit traffic ticket. If i had been driving my wife's minivan I am sure there would have been no violation. I immediately ordered a Radar detector.

Super nice Camaro! If I had any suggestions about all your video's. It would be to just show a liitle more...lol. I will say that the content is just about perfect though. I've always loved these cars Sure so love the wheels on it. It something about it makes it that stands out. Just don't get rid of the 78 TransAm, for sure! I cant wait to see more videos of that beast...lol.

I got the 2018 SS Camaro 1ss with a 8 speed automatic and it's all stock. I love my Camaro and never plan to sell it. I'm that happy with my choice with the 6th generation Camaro.

Beauty car. Love the sixth gens. They had that one weird year where they had the flowtie below the grill (which I didn’t hate, but I’m glad they changed it). I drove a 2018 once, SS convertible, and it just felt so much quicker… or… capable than my 2010 2SS. These late model 6th gens have really grown on me, and I don’t know what it is about the LT1 badge on the fender, but it just looks amazing. It’s funny too, I was a big transformers fan when I was a kid, and Bumblebee was my favourite, so I loved the old VW bugs. When the movie came out and I saw that he had become a Camaro, I couldn’t believe it, as I was already driving my 95 Z28. Couldn’t believe how great the car looked. Luckily when the 2010 came out, Chevy was doing their employee pricing for everyone campaign, and I was able to afford one. Still have it today!

Very cool, and thank you very much. The 6th gens were made a little more rigid than the 5th, and a little lighter. But there are things I like better about the 5th gens, LOVE the guages on them, and definitely more roomey inside lol. I was driving a 94 Z28 about that same time hahaha, we are definitely alike. So cool that you bought it new and still have it, I'd keep it if you can, might regret selling her.

I have a 2020 LT1 with A10 and dual mode exhaust. Bought it Nov. 2019 after it was sent from factory to Texas AAA 500 and used as the Grand Marshal Car for the race. So I bought it as a USED car with 84 miles and the previous owner was Chevrolet. Got it cheap that way $31,000.

Emblem is from 13gfab.com, ridiculously expensive though lol, but they do send candy and a 6th gen Camaro hot wheels car with it I kid you not xD, and the nicest packaging you'll ever see, wanted something to detail up the interior a little. Wheels are 18x9, but my oem ones were 20x8. Hopefully yours gets to you soon! You won't regret it ;)

Great car and review! I have a 2018 2SS 6sp and love it. Is my third Camaro. Did you notice a big difference going to the LT2 intake? Who did you go with for a tune? I had a 1996 Z28, 383 with full bolt-ons! Lighter, smaller and quicker than my sixth gen. New subscriber here! I live in Northern Maine and soon will be putting her in winter hibernation :( Keep up the nice work.

With the 275's in the back I can get traction but then it starts to break loose again past 5500 rpm xD It's a handful hahaha. Dyno Tune Motorsports did my tune, he's excellent (Brian Turner) Galloway, OH. He has tuned quite a few for my dad and I over the years, never a problem.

I just ordered an LT1 to replace my 17 SS. How do you like the Bose stereo/tech package? My current Camaro has the base stereo and although it doesn’t sound terrible I’m hoping the premium is better.

Hey Brian gots to ask you a question? When you put that LT 2 intake manifold on ! Did you get a tune on your Camaro ? Cause I’ve heard you had to ! Or is it ok with out a tune on your install ? Not sure 🤔 I also have a 2022 LT1 and that is what I was going to do but I don’t want to mess up my warranty if I do !

So sorry about a late response, youtube doesn't always notify me. So with the lt2 manifold you're gonne have light detonation at high rpm under full throttle, so I had a tune done immediately, you can drive it normally with manifold on though until you can get a tune, the car REALLY loved it though:) Say goodbye to the warranty though, but I'd do it again in a heartbeat, GM part and she was always reliable with normal maintenance, definitely run the updated mobil 1 0w40 dexos 2, same oil the C8 Corvette takes with same lt2 manifold ^^

Could you link the front splitter? I have the 1LT 6 cylinder. I just want a good front splitter and a rear spoiler. Also can you get the technology package as an upgrade after?

I do know you can upgrade to the larger touch screen, heard of people doing it. Can't sign into my Amazon account now for some reason sorry :/ I think you can find it under searching zl1 front splitter. The V6 is also a great and reliable engine, and it sounds sweet too. I don't think gm offers the tech package to install later unfortunately, but you could always upgrade speakers with your larger touch screen, and an amp.

Good question, personally I didn't gun it or drive over 3500rpm for 1,600 miles, even though the manual said 1,500 miles. Just my preference. Also changed oil at 500 miles, then again at 1,600, used a catch can and oil filter magnet from 26 miles after I got it home from dealership.

Both cool cars, but I'll take the handling of the Camaro any day. Go one size better on supercharger pulley and an e85 tune lol, that'll give you a huge difference. But it's never enough power, done with the money pit personally, always someone faster etc., would keep ZL1 imo, you see way less of them :D

Agreed, mine was a little loud only on cold starts with oem exhaust lol. Mine has no npp option so just went with these flowmasters, picked the axle back kit up used but like new for $300 on facebook matketplace. I like a deeper tone personally so love these :D. Not familiar with NXTSTEP so don't wanna steer you wrong. I did listen to many exhaust videos here on youtube before making my decision, it'll get you close.

I have a 2020 lt1 with the npp. I did a cheap muffler delete and its sounds like a beast! Truly don't believe you need much more than that, it's loud and pops like crazy! Anything more loud would be too much imo

I didnt want to do a muffler delete, as i feel it will be too loud, my 05 GTO has slp loudmouth II cat back , i think that is the target or a little quieter. The stock single exhaust is just too quiet.

Yeah :/ mine took months too from start to finish, and it's pretty much a bare bones lt1. Hope you hear something soon. Sure miss the days when this "microchip shortage" didn't exist. You could actually get a Camaro quickly, or even go to your local Target or Walmart for the new Playstation/Xbox.
