I had a Black and Gold T/A WS6 and had the Pontiac Block in it. If it says T/A 6.6 on the shaker it’s supposed to be the W72 package. If it said 6.6 liter on the shaker then it came with the olds 403 block that was a little less horsepower. I sure miss the heck out of mine which also got wrecked when a gal ran a red light and hit the right front fender, bent the uni body frame and the insurance company wouldn’t fix it. It was fun to drive and handled like a dream!!! I need another one lol! Maybe two!

LOL nothing wrong with having 2, really sorry to hear about what happened to yours, I drive for a living and see people driving stupid all day :/ You're 100% correct on the shaker hood info, I was shocked when I first drove this one how well it handled, I've driven a lot of newer sports cars and I'm still very impressed, and pleeeeenty of power 😃😎, wish you the best finding another.

Awesome video! I’ve been thinking about getting a New Edge Mustang, since that’s the coolest generation imo, but do you know what the differences between the V6 and the GT, aside from the engine of course? I could probably get a GT for around 2k more but I’m also concerned about insurance and mileage. Thanks!
@Feral80sKid
@Feral80sKid 5 күн бұрын
Thank you very much:) You'll have a bit stiffer suspension in the GT, rear swaybar added, limited slip differential and a few other things I'm probably forgetting lol, you'll definitely get better mpg's with the V6 but I'd go for the GT now for the sound:) Definitely get one that is rust free underneath if possible. Either way with the V6 pr GT you can't go wrong🤙

I just picked up a 2000 convertible with 130k on it and the V6 for $2500. It's not as nice as yours but still very decent and no rust. I was surprised how dry it was under the car... not one leak. It's got new tires and brakes all the way around and motor runs great so I was shocked at the price compared to other cars in that range. I just needed a car to drive from time to time when rotating vehicles around to my storage so I think I did ok. Now just trying to find out what problems to look for to stay ahead of the maintenance on this and saw your video. Thanks!

My Grandpa bought a 1984 camaro in 87 and drove the piss out of the car. Then in 95 put it on jacks to work on it and he just never got around to it because his wife bought him a 69 camaro project. Just this summer after I graduated he told me I could have it and my dad, him, and I put it back together almost 30 years later. Nice C7. In April 2023 I bought my first Corvette, a 1999 C5 Hardtop with only 18k miles. It now has almost 25k miles and is in near mint condition. Low VIN under 0250, early production. Has a cassette player and manual HVAC controls. Later hardtops came with CD player and electronic HVAC controls. I definitely want to move up to a 2016 or newer C7. Contemplating either selling my C5 next spring and start saving up for a C7 or wait till I pay off my C5 in early 2028 when I retire sell it and put that down as a deposit for a C7 Definitely will be a manual. Was thinking Z51 but after watching your video I may not want it. I won’t be tracking it, but definitely will have some spirited driving. Will look for mag ride and NPP exhaust First year for flat bottom steering wheel is 2016. I just saw i commented on that 2015 C7 a couple of years ago.

Surprisingly comfortable for how well it handles too. The C5 is one heck of a car too, like the interior way better than the C6 personally🤝🇺🇲

@ thanks, my C5 is amazing. Love the interior design/layout. Yea the quality is cheap, but GM focused on the engine/drivetrain. Earlier this year I had the shop I go to replace the worn out OEM End links with MOOG brand AND what a difference in handling. Car is tighter even around town at low speeds. I have 9 year old run flats that have alot of tread remaining but will be replacing them next spring. Goodyear recommends changing them after 6 years, no dry rot at all but definitely too old. Also earlier this year I had the harmonic balancer replaced and last year all the accessoy belt and AC BELTS, tensioners and pulleys replaced. With over 2000 put into this car already I think I’m gonna hold onto it until it’s paid off in 2028 and then get my C7.
