Curious about Bangkok's cost of living in 2023? In this video I'm giving you a full tour of my luxury one bedroom condo in the heart of Bangkok's Sukhumvit area. Only 300m from the Ekkamai BTS station, this location is ideal for foreigners who want to be close to the downtown action, while still remaining outside the major tourist areas of Phrom Phong, Asok, Nana, Siam, etc. This is my third apartment in this building. As I mentioned in the video, I was interested in trying a new neighborhood this year, but the combination of location, price, amenities, and value made it hard to turn down. It's a 35 sqm one-bedroom unit, which is pretty typical for modern construction in Bangkok (this building is only 3 years old). While I wish the room was a little larger, the layout allows me to maximize my use of the space. I'm renting on a six month contract and might renew for another six months. If you have any questions, please drop them down below!
📍 Building Info:
Rhythm Ekkamai
11 Soi Sukhumvit 63

🛏 Room Info:

💵 Costs:
Rent: 25,000 THB

Internet: 400 THB
Water: 50-100 THB

This is a good video, top notch. ;D Just one thing is honestly weird - the girl was on your thumbnail AND appeared in the video the whole time - but you didn't even say "I'm here with XXX". Even with a nickname it would be OK. But not introducing her at all was just weird honestly, felt, dehumanizing or something. Yes it's the 1st vid I saw on your channel.

I live before in a small condo like this but I've changed to a 46sqm condo and I must say it's way better. The furniture and design of your apartment is awesome but in my opinion this "one window" gives not enough light to the room. Anyway, great tour, really nice condo, close to Ekkamai. You make nothing wrong

Controversial opinion here but I’m actually a fan of Saphan Khwai / Ari a bit more than Thong Lor / Ekkamai haha. Sure it’s not as exciting, but it’s got that more rustic, down to earth charm. For me at least. ^^

I found the unit on list DDproperty.com. When I did the walkthrough, I just chatted with the owner. Not only was it empty for several months, I was literally the first tenant ever in this room. There was still plastic wrap on some of the appliances.

Living in this area, you can definitely can speak 100% english and zero Thai and be just fine. That being said, I've slowly integrated Thai into my daily routine over time, and I think it's a better experience when you can communicate on a more direct level with locals :)

It's such a hard questions because there are so many variables, but I would say 100,000 baht per month as a general baseline. Could be less, could be more.

It must all come down to '''LOCATION''' ! --?-- A bit pricey for my tastes. -- I could do w/o some of the extra "stuff'' they have which I would seldom if ever use ? -- You might be right about them all raising prices to make up for lost earnings. -- There are some very nice surrounding areas just outside of the city center vicinity which have most all that you would ever need - and - that could save some money while being close enough for easy access to nearly everything important to you. -?- At least it would be for me. -- I would expect to locate a $500 (all in) studio for rent utilities wi-fi & TV close to rail. > But - I have fewer "expectations" - I know. -- (( expectations vary )) -- For me - "less is more".

First one I moved into was a 1-bedroom and ridiculously cheap because of covid. It was 18,00 THB ALL INCLUSIVE (rent, electricity, water, internet). Landlord wanted 35,000 after that term. Second one I moved into was a very nice studio (top floor, corner unit), but quite small. (22,000 THB) I like this neighborhood, and this building, so I ended up renting another room here.
