Congrats on your new born daughter. 👍 I wish you all a great new year. BTW, with your tape peeling the paint/powder-coat off, in situations like that I've always stuck the tape to my clothing then peel it off and apply to your project. I hope that helps with future projects.

Thank you! Same to you and your family 😊 That is a fantastic tip! I wish I had done that it would have saved me a heap of work haha

Get that van going mate. Taking my kids on holidays to weird and wonderful places has been the greatest joy.

I cannot wait, I need this tow vehicle right first to save a lot on fuel.. got any places you recommend checking out?

@EngineeredToDesign start close to home, say an hour of two for a few days and build your family's confidence and then go further for longer. Get a free camp book. It will save you a fortune.

If you want really light weight furniture you could build it out of foam board. It can be covered with plywood or paint and fabric to give it a hard surface. There are some vids on KZbin showing how to make furniture from foam board.

Definitely recommend an m57 swap for the 105, put one in my gu and its unreal

That’s what I’m doing 👌🏻 how do you find fuel economy? Did you buy plug and play for electrical?

Have you considered running a Dometic or equivalent Aircon Unit? Could supplement the power draw with Solar panels and a Lithium battery setup
@EngineeredToDesign4 күн бұрын
Certainly, I would like an under seat unit to keep weight low. Fold out solar is the go for me to.

@@EngineeredToDesign Good thinking my bro, helps keeps the clearance low on the top end. Beautiful build regardless, keen to see how it fits out!

how difficult was the process for the new vin number. Ie. understanding the stds and compliing and providing evedice?
@EngineeredToDesign13 күн бұрын
Wasn’t to difficult it was mainly listing wheels, ratings, lighting and reflector adr’s. They were super helpful on the phone.

Are you going to put so decent size wheels and tyres
@EngineeredToDesignАй бұрын
Yes that is coming in the future for sure 👌🏻

35 l per 100? Holy crap I knew they were thirsty but not that bad. Our 1hd-t powered coaster with trailer weigh a touch over six ton and the worst we get is 21-22l per 100.
@EngineeredToDesignАй бұрын
Yeah I can’t get over 250kms to a tank.. we don’t dare touch the Ac button either haha.. good car but way too thirsty. Wow that’s good as!

That's not a camper. It's more of a box trailer with lights than a camper.

I prefer YOUR idea of walls DIRECTLY attached (welded/bolted/whatever) to the chassis and the floor sandwiched in-between. It's FAR easier to repair damage or rot to flooring like that.
