Love the fact that you put up a vid detailing your troubleshooting process - helps future tuners avoid the same mistakes. This is what tuning is all about - the intellectual pursuit of getting more power from the machine and learning the science behind how. Anyone can add bolt-ons to a car if they have a big budget but huge respect to those who take the time to understand it.

I'm so happy that you made an update video to your car. It's such a beautiful machine & to see that you keep the outside completely unmolested on the outside, but an amazing build on the inside. absolutely beautiful car!!!!

They can go higher, but the cost increases substancially. Theres plenty of 1000+ hp supras, but they are taken to another level than ice1cubes Supra. Pretty good for a 6-cylinder, 3.0 L (stock) engine released more than 25 years ago.

Looking at your Video... I am So happy to say that taking my car to get the motor build, gearbox done stage 3, complete pro mod upgrade for rear drive train, the right Suspension and wheels and brakes, cage in the car all with a sweet ProEfi setup... All good for a daily 1200whp like the TRC Supra... I'm just happy i know that doing it right from the get go with NOTHING to break over and go on a trial and error issue... sorry you had to spend so much money man. Them Supras don't come cheap and if I am in 60k, i could not even try to think what you spent... ? Good luck with your car man.. :)
@livinroomlongshanks8 жыл бұрын
+speadfreakmax Your car will break soon enough. It's the nature of the beast. And there's no such thing as a "stage 3" for a v160. Ask me how I know.
@speadfreakmax8 жыл бұрын
Well stage three as i understood is was when they build, like mine, that the oil flow easier to the front when you do hard pulls on the v160. that is all that i understood from jacks transmission that goes for stage 3. And yes you are right , shit will always break, but it's like being NOT fit for a football game and being fit. the one that is fitter will just do better.. same goes for the motors... if it was build right for the purpose then other than human error how can it go wrong. And yes please, i am always open to learn. why do you say no stage 3 ?
@livinroomlongshanks8 жыл бұрын
+speadfreakmax you fell victim to Jacks' marketing. there's not one single aftermarket component inside your "stage 3," so tell me again how that can possibly be a "stage 3," even if he did his magic soup synchro "preloading and groove opening." Seriously, you'd have been better off getting a stage 1.
@speadfreakmax8 жыл бұрын
As things are right now, synchros are done, and short shift kit with the "oil flow" to the front. Box meshes like a warm knife in butter, but like you said, Nothing lasts forever and on top of that all, parts are tougher to come by.
@livinroomlongshanks8 жыл бұрын
+speadfreakmax I've rebuilt over 15 v160's. The synchros he put in your box, specifically the friction rings (3 ring system) may have had the oil grooves enlarged, but that's not going to prolong their life as others have broken "Jacks modified synchro's" before. the "trap door" he installed may keep a residual amount of fluid on the input shaft (5/6th gear/counter), but that hasn't been proven to improve the life span of the front gear set. My factory v160 that I rebuilt with stock, OEM parts shifts like butter, too, as well as many other factory v160's that are in my area. Sorry, buddy, you got duped for marketing that prey's on people who can't see past the smoke and mirror. Next time, and there will be a next time...get a stage 1 and save yourself some money.

THANK YOU for making this video!! Just out of curiosity, how did you/the shop find out that the reason it spit the bottom half of the con rod through the oil pan was bc they hadn't torqued the bolts correctly? I'm just wondering how you can diagnose that's the reason, after it happened.
@Cal30008 жыл бұрын
+Arthur Sperotto It's possible that the bolt were not broken and managed to wiggle their way off the threads.
