I have a 2013 with 103,000 miles. Its been 100% reliable. And a lot of fun.

I got unlucky when I bought mine as gearbox was bad 😞 dealer never told me the input shaft bearing was bad , so had to threaten him with court action to get some money back as cost me £800 for gearbox repair and new clutch 😱 apart from that the engine is perfect 👍

I just recently bought as of the middle of July of this year a 2013 Fiat 500 Turbo Coupe. She had right 108,700 miles when I got her and she just rolled over 109,000 miles as of 1 week ago this past weekend. She has been an absolute joy to own and she's so much fun to drive!! I've loved the little Italian troublemaker for years now and I'm glad that I finally got the chance to own one!!

Wow, wishing you many miles of fun motoring.

Mine's an Abarth 500C, in red, in the UK - it's just ticked over 80,000 miles. It's on its original clutch, I've owned it for nearly six years and it's given me no problems. It's needed tyres, light bulbs, servicing, a couple of control arms and rear shocks. I've been all over Europe in it and I love it as much today as I did the day I bought it. I suspect I'll still own it when its mileage hits the same heady heights as yours.

Wow great to hear that you’re having a similar experience.

Clutch. Done 117k miles in E92 M3 still on original clutch. Did 138k miles in previous E46 M3 that still had original clutch when I sold it. Both manuals & only used on roads. Like the pearlescent white btw.

Wow that’s impressive mileage.

Had one since 2009 from new and now at 144k miles...about to be serviced again and needs another new control arm but that's a common consumable...still drives great.

Great mileage! Ive just bought a new 695 Comp and loving it. Got it last week and already past 500 miles. Only downside is that the front bumper is already peppered in stone chips. Not great on a new motor. How has yours been?

I had PPF installed on the front from new due to mine being pearlescent white paintwork

It's good to know even the high mileage Abarths are still capable of doing what they do. I wouldn't be scared of buying one at this mileage is it was looked after, of course. I'm so tempted to get one. At my budget though I can only look at an older model, but a lot of people have spoken highly about this era of the Abarth. Thanks!

I have no bad words to say about the car's reliability...it has been a gem.

H Rich. Thanks for the review. I have a have a 2012 Fiat Sport with 113,000 miles. The car runs great! The Abarth was not available when I brought my Fiat. Still concerned that turbos are not as reliable is naturally aspirated engines. Am I correct about that? Thanks!
@RichReviews_ Жыл бұрын
Thanks Robert. My Abarth is a 1.4 turbo and in general has been very reliable. Still on original clutch at 145k miles now!
@varmastiko2908 Жыл бұрын
@@robertcastoro2012 The turbo engines are built stronger to cope with the extra power so mechanically they aren't any less durable than a NA variant. The turbocharger itself is the part you need to overhaul or replace at some point, but even that might take more than 200k miles unless the engine is tuned. In fact if you don't use the extra power of the turbo engine a lot then your overall result will likely be improved durability as you have those beefed up parts but you aren't putting stress on them. I know someone with an Alfa with this same base engine and still going strong at 280k miles.

@@varmastiko2908 Thank you sir for your reply. I am on a Fiat 500 Owner’s Forum here in the U.S. and a member clocked 320,000 miles on his 2012 Fiat Pop. I think he changed the timing belt 3 times. That was as if 2020. I don’t know if he still has the car. Also, I have a friend who had a Abarth and the engine caught on fire. 🙄 I have no idea what that was about. Thanks again and please keep posting!

Hey Rich! Appreciate your videos! I own a 2013 NA Abarth in red and I live in Arizona. I bought my car used at 60k miles for about $12,000 in early 2022 and its actually my third one! First two got totaled because drivers are bat shit out here in AZ but this third one is my baby. My car is now at 88090 miles and I have been debating purchasing performance mods due to the mileage and was worried about when I would need to sell, if I should just try to keep it and rebuild or just overall what I can expect as my car gains more miles towards the 6 figure mark. I found your videos and I really enjoy your input as a more knowledgeable car guy and these 500 videos have given me a lot of info to chew on and I just wanted to take a moment to say thanks for posting these 500 videos - I find them really informative and fun to watch someone who's driven Ferrari talk about the same little car I own. Thanks Rich!

Hey Mitchell...thank you for your kind message. As I mentioned in the video, the car has been a life saver for me as a daily driver and when the head was removed at 135k, there was no real wear noticed in the bores which rather surprised me. As I said, my car has now covered 142k miles on it's original clutch which also amazes me...though of course I'm glad not to have had to change the clutch yet.

Well ive got a 1.2 2013 Lounge 500 and that thing is fast i swear the previous owner modded it as it does 0-60 in 10 seconds but Fiats official figure is 12.9 ? so must be tuned and no before you say it , its not a 1.4 its definitely a 1.2 so is very weird especially when im finding myself keeping up with a mid aged man in a v6 Skoda Superb lol that really happened , poor bloke was a bit shocked i was still with him at 80mph

I’ve just bought a 2017 595 competizione after having a few 500’s to run about in. I absolutely love them. They are great cars. I had M3’s and pretty much every Renaultsport, VAG stuff but these are just brilliant cars. I love the fact you’ve got exotic stuff but still love your trusty little 500 Abarth 🙌😍
