I retired this year and for the last 6 months have been trying to keep to a budget of $1000 a month while living in South Florida. What has helped is keeping a simple Budget and expense tracker to track each months expenses and then compiling the amounts in a simple spreadsheet. I regret not using an expense tracker until such a late part of my life, it is a very powerful tool. I am going to do a video next week and go over my budget and expenses for the last 6 months and encourage others to start using a simple budget and expense tracker too. I envy your health and car insurance costs. Thanks for the inspiration.

Interesting. Some of the budget categories seem unrealistically low or unsustainable (grocery, utilities, $0 on purchases). You do need to buy clothes, hygiene, household and health items and even stuff from time-to-time. Also, I'm not sure how or why you would want to sustain yourself on $85 of food for a month. That said, $700 of "fun money" goes a long way in filling in some of those holes (depending on what you consider "fun"). I do think it is realistic for a single person to survive "comfortably" on approximately $2k of non-debt expenditures/month if you work at it and sacrifice (quite a bit), but his itemized budget is just unrealistic in a lot of respects for a typical month.

Can you do your actual revenues for the month?😁

Eventually I may talk about how much I earn but many subscribers are against this.
@johnjohn401005 жыл бұрын
@@BeatTheBush why are many subscribers against this? It gives some context to your expenses. If you're earning a million a year then, then these expenses are so small that it's essentially negligible. Whereas maybe you're earning 10 or 20k, then your expenses matters significantly more.

That climate change credit is such a scam. Some of the most expensive electricity in the country ($0.25/kwH) and they try to make you feel better by occasionally giving you some of your own money back as a "climate credit".

Your health insurance sounds very low for some that’s not Medicare and a cut rate supplement. Are you on subsidized health insurance for low income people? What’s the coverage? Catastrophic coverage only? Your car insurance sounds extremely low. Do you have bare bones liability coverage? If you get sued, their going to likely sue for more than your minimum coverage. You might lose your house and other assets if you are under insured. Your electricity sounds too low for California. Are you living in the dark, like a hermit?

Is BeatTheBush also kid friendly? He is telling/teaching to adults and teens about MONEY. That's right kids MONEY doesn't grow on a bush.

Usually not because the content is finances for adults. Some younger kids looking to grow up fast may watch though.

I don't get the point of being frugal. Why not develop a high income skill like Dan Lok said and make millions and not waste time trying to save a dollar. In your case, put that programming skill out there and make millions.
@BeatTheBush5 жыл бұрын
You still have to spend less than what you make. I just put my spending on autopilot. It really comes down to what you want to do with your time and how much autonomy you want. Any job has a range or autonomy but most will agree, early retirement has much more including not needing to waste time commuting to work.

=D Reserving it is congrats? Or you think I absolutely will get one just because I put down $100?
@dyhppyx5 жыл бұрын
I think if you were smart you would get it and I think you also know thats the right move inside or else you wouldn't have put down a non refundable deposit. You've already proven you can live life on the cheap. Your next stage ought to be how to live life very well intelligently on a budget. Tesla definitely fits into that philosophy.
