2:21 - The voice actor for Jor-El is a friend of mine, a former KZbinr named Jason Marnocha aka LordJazor. He first gained popularity doing a spot on Mark Hamill Joker impression, and being a voice in projects like TeamFourStar’s and The Fedora Player’s Abridged series. Since then, he’s been a rising star in anime dubs, such as Megalo Box, Hells, JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure, and Seven Deadly Sins. His biggest claim to fame so far is being the voice of Megatron in the Netflix Transformers series.

Great reaction guys. I'm having a blast with this show so far. It reminds me when I was a kid and would watch Superman the Animated Series. They have managed to incorporate the main stays of the mythos, while adding their own interesting twists to it. I love how we have a language barrier between Clark and Jor-El. This makes perfect sense considering Clark wouldn't know his native language yet. It is a great way to explain why Clark is still so new to his powers and heritage. Looking forward to future reactions for this.

not to mention Jor-El's intense ass visage booming from all that highly intimidating alien tech would've been scary af for a pre-teen Clark causing him to literally bury the truth about himself for a decade - he should've let Lara record the 'welcome to krypton' hologram

The suit transformation, while fun, is a one-off due to it being Jor-El’s AI gifting it to him through advance technology. Which makes sense as to why it’s skintight and fits him; plus as others have noted, while it means Ma Kent didn’t make the costume, they hit a nice middle ground with her providing the belt and trunks… In doing so they also point out why it’s potentially necessary, based on breaking up the blue more; for me, without it the outfit is too obviously alien (and further highlighting the issues of Snyder’s films because it was that and too many other things that made Supes not feel approachable). Speaking of the parents, Pa Kent being also alive is pretty nice; it was actually the Christopher Reeve films that established the status quo of him dying via heart attack while his wife still lives into Clark’s super-career. Before that (and pre-Crisis) the usual continuity was both Martha and Jonathan are dead by the time he becomes Superman (although the Superboy comics which first introduced them has them alive). The era post-COIE had them both alive, at least for a while (and DC outright refused to let the DCAU kill them off because they had this obsession with brand synergy, the same thing that caused “The Death of Superman” because “Lois and Clark” was running and the comic writers weren’t allowed to marry them because of that…) Interesting takes on Livewire and Deathstroke here; we’re yet to see a number of other characters but they’re surely coming at some point or another. We have at least one more season ordered, we’ll see though…

Oh is there a season 2 confirmed already? Nice. Your a fountain of knowledge dude. Love chatting histories and other comic stories. Pa Kent dying in the 78 movie still brings a tear to my eye. But used to both versions as we watched Dean cains lois and Clark show where both were alive

I'm def anticipating the episode we find out how Jor-El lost his eye like Space Odin - i'm betting it happened during their version of Krypton's civil war. Leslie bka Livewire looks great and would make a dope new recruit for Waller's Task Force X. Speaking of one-eyed characters tho, Slade's journey from emo mystery agent to the alias he's best known by in the comics, should be interesting

My headcanon for the suit is that it´s *too* skintight and "fanservice-y" without the red pants. Would make sense, what with the anime inspiration...

They turned Deathstroke into a anime prettyboy. And, I ain't complaining, I'm all in for it! But it does threw me off he's voiced by Chris Parnell. I'm familiar with his work voicing Jerry in Rick and Morty. Also, he's the narrator in the Batman: The Audio Adventures.

I mean, technically “Task Force X” is the official name; the Suicide Squad is the colloquial term based on the perspective that they’re effectively suicide missions. And hey, it’s better than the DCAU renaming Ra’s al Ghul’s organisation the “Society of Shadows”… I mean, seriously? The “League of Shadows” that Chris Nolan used keeps “Assassin” out if that’s the concern; Society of Shadows is also just a needless mouthful. Oh yeah; I think the ship was growing last episode when his powers activated in that climax. Probably a complex technology symbiosis that Jor set up for his son… It’s probably going to keep growing and he’s going to move it to Antarctica to have his Fortress of Solitude.

Imo that's the idea under a superman story in any genre and it seems people are use to the writers putting the angst in Superman rather than him go up against the angst(Superman's ideals of save everyone vs save OUR people by anymeans Necessary Suicide Squad(caviot of Sam lane being the last moral compass"we are doing this to SAVE people remember?" Mean while Waller is yes very pragmatic which is perfect for Supermans optimistic type of personality)
