I’m disabled. It impacts every part of my life; I have problems with my vision, balance, proprioception, I have nerve pain, muscle weakness, memory problems, spasms, spasticity, blah blah blah. But it’s not really a part of my *personality.* I feel like Jake has kind of made it a massive part of who he considers himself to be, like rather than it just impacting every part of his life, it *is* every part of his life. I’m so many things that have nothing to do with being disabled. I don’t have to mention it in every conversation, I don’t have to bring it into everything I do. I don’t criticise other people for “faking” disability, because they’ve hurt “my community.” It’s just a disability. It’s a shitty thing I have going on, but it’s not who I am.

@@calvinjluther yeah I definitely get that vibe as well, like if he doesn't actually believe himself to be somewhat in the right, here, then he's REALLY selling it, but it feels like a disconnect from the social perception of what he's saying and the videos he's put out, like he's so stuck in his own box that he's not understanding the issue people have with this situation, especially given that he's made his name and his channel by calling out people who are faking disabilities, it's easy to imagine he doesn't take the lack of evidence into account, as normally he has concrete evidence, and it reads to me like in this situation, he feels he has "evidence" of Ethan being fraudulent, when really Ethan just made a human error that a lot of us make, just happened to do so in front of fans on his platform. Which ultimately would have been okay to address had Jake addressed it properly, and not like every other one of his videos debunking people faking disabilities. Which is, in my opinion, where Tom's analysis of this "Syndrome" Syndrome comes in. To me, it seems like he is unable to see people's issue with this "callout" because of his own personal feelings in the situation.

That means that the person/newspaper/publisher can reprint the photo in a certain context or for a certain timeframe. If he was smart and had her sign a limited license agreement that stipulated that she could only use the photos on her instagram, then he'd have a pretty strong legal case for copyright infringement if she subsequently published them in a book without getting a new agreement first. If, however, he made some kind of general statement that said that she could use the photos however she liked, then...I'd say she's within her rights to publish them in a book. We can't really say who's in the wrong without knowing what their initial agreement was about her rights to reproduce the photographs.

Basically, you go through a checklist to check whether your emotion is based on reality and whether it is valid or based on something else (e.g., jealousy or, as you said, resentment). I'm guessing Chicken Little is more invested in physical than mental illness. Still, whether you know it by name or not, this is a basic and well-known tactic. I don't know the KZbin experience, but I'd guess checking the facts of your emotions towards certain things would be super crucial before putting something online for your fanbase or at least changing the video to a rant video and a "guys don't do anything I'm just yapping" type disclaimer at the start if your feelings aren't valid but you wanna post anyway. 36:52 I think he has a lot of expenses so I think with their current lifestyle they're not set for life. Also even though they got a lot of money in donations during their copyright lawsuit they still paid a lot out of pocket for that. And then a lot of out-of-pocket costs for the lawsuits with the Harvey Weinstein look alike. but I agree that the podcast is not the greatest source of income. Especially considering how many employees they have. And definitely feeling beholden to those employees plays a part in why he keeps the podcast going.
