I mean, most lawyers make an average of 64k a year, while owing an average of 150k in student loans for law school. Unless you know you can be top of your class and get a job at a big firm, it’s not worth it.

My under grad was in engineering, I can humbly say after I conpleted the engineering program there's not one thing that I cannot conquer with time, dedication and hard work. You who's reading this comment, you can do it. Your destiny is entirely up to you and how far you go into accomplishing your dreams depend on your work ethics. YOU GOT THIS! As I'm typing I'm currently studying for the LSAT and hoping to start law school in fall of 2024. Final goal is to be a patent attorney by 2029.

What are some good jobs to get as someone with a high school diploma trying to be a lawyer? Many jobs require 2-3 years in clerical and administrative positions so what would those entail?😊

@@kaydenmastny The types of jobs you're asking about are typically clerical and office manager types. Secondly, if you're entertaining thoughts about going to law school, you will have to have a Bachelor's Degree to be admitted to law school. Hope that helps.

Im a corporate Lawyer. Im the owner of my own lawfirm and Im happy with my profession. However, I will never advice someone to study law nowadays. There is various reasons. However, I think the most important are: 1) there is too many lawyers and that have reduce the prices for legal services making it harder to gain new clients and money; 2) In USA could be incredibly expensive to study law; 3) People expect for you to be available 24/7 as their lawyer, is very hard to have vacations and free time; 4) There are less expensive and time demanding careers where you can do money too. In conclusion please do not study law. However, at the end is if your dream career then do it.

I don’t think we should give blanket recommendations not to enter the field it depends heavily on the schools available to a student and the scholarships offered to them. There is a big difference between going to some no name school for full price and going to a top 14 on a scholarship where the return on investment can be substantially higher in terms of expected salary. Despite the challenges and long hours that come with firm work there are very few other fields where a a student with no prior work experience can reliably start at over 200k

1. Go to a good college my 2 dream colleges for law school are 15k per year (BYU) and 20k per year(FSU) that’s not a lot. 2. Most people get jobs at firms before they are done with law school so they have a job right out of law school

Another option that seems to be really overlooked in military law. Not only can you get law school payed for (FLEP), but you also get to experience so much more than your normal civilian career. I mean, think about it... How many Lawyers can be apart of an Airborne unit and jump out of planes, or get deployed on an aircraft carrier?

@@islip376 I have been a lawyer for 15 years and I have my own lawfirm. The main reason to not study law is because is too expensive and there is to many lawyers. Therefore it doesnt make sense to spend so much money for something that will be incredibly hard to make money out of it. This is just the rule of supply and demad is like gravity you cannot deny it. On the other hand is the fact that nowadays there are many other jobs or careers were you can make good money spending less in your degree and having a less stressfull live. As a lawyer I just want for people to be aware of this. The main complain I always heard from new lawyers is the number of lawyers that does exist. Is like they dont take this into account until they are working and realize that it truly affects the market, the salaries and the prices for legal services.

This is my hope. The few people who I've talked to about it ask me why I would even consider it in my 30s, but I read law in my free time. I watch every law lecture on KZbin. The verbose and still direct verbage of law just sets my soul on fire knowing it can be interpreted differently and argued over. I held debate club records in my schools. I'll take con on something I feel passionately pro, just because I enjoy the feeling of devil's advocate. Let's play. 36, and chasing down law school just now. Maybe I should make a channel?

Weird question for you. I am writing a short story.
