Totally. We've become so angry that we think being rational will save us. The truth is logic never was above emotion. Even men who avoid emotions are miserable. It's not something that comes naturally with womenhood but its a core part of being *human*. Understanding them and using them without involving any ego is healthy and the highest form.

I also think an important thing I've learned as a young woman is that the world loves young women who always say yes, who never set their boundaries, and who never voice their discomfort. You are not doing anyone a disservice by putting your foot down because if you don't advocate for yourself, NOBODY will look out for you.

We often push women to be agreeable and cater to others rather than encouraging them to honour their boundaries but i do agree that living that way does provide the best life!

@@Grace-em6gh Frankly being "liked" can be linked to being easily manipulated. Many men are predatory & often issue veiled threats or are "testing" women. When a man chooses a life partner, he appreciates a woman with high boundaries. When he wants to "play the field" or have sex with multiple women, choose the term you prefer, he prefers women who put no moral restrictions on this behavior. When I was growing up, I chose to be chaste until marriage. Compared to many friends, who experienced heart ache with varied relationships, I was able to concentrate on devoting myself to college and personal goals. I did have boyfriends & some did leave me because I didn't have sex with them. However, I did have a number of marriage proposals. There were a number of guys who did appreciate my outlook on life, and I did marry once I graduated from college. When one considers that in the US that around 15% of the population are now Narcissistic, one has to guard against certain personality types. One of the key character traits of a Narcissist is having inappropriate boundaries, the classic love bombing, wanting to move in or have sex right away. These are all warning signs. So, the more time one has to vet someone, the better off they will be.

Do you think anybody actually looked out for you if the condition of their support was you being silent about your needs? Well... I don't think nobody will look out for you. It's just a beginning if you happened to be in the toxic environment and grew enough to respect yourself. You don't do it only to feel good but to show in your life. It draws other kind of people who will have your back as this creates stronger, more sincere and genuine bonds, builds trust. If it doesn't, something's wrong, either you should learn to communicate more kindly, still lack compassion for others as well (although it's rare if you came a long way to find compassion for yourself), or the people around you still aren't mature / emotionally intelligent enough to respect you as a full human being with own perspective, wants, needs, feelings. Healthy relationships are so healing and comforting... Knowing yourself and a healthy amount of assertiveness is the only way to actually start getting the right people around you. You change for the world for you to change. It's irrational to expect change from yourself and staying in the same environment, with the same people who shaped you to be less, who never encouraged you, who surpressed your self-esteem and worst, got some real benefits from it. It's like you finally felt worthy to buy and wear a princess dress but the ball was still in the dumpster.

I am a 22 year old woman and one of the key values I've established for myself is self cultivation. When I was younger I was afraid of forming solid opinions in fear that people would disagree with me and therefore, not like me. I've seen the power and the respect I'm able to illicit in others from being able to communicate my own opinions and ideas. I still believe I have a lot to learn and practice in order to be better, but being aware of it sure helps.

The timing of me finding this video is so insane to me. I, 22 yr old black woman, stopped talking to a guy I just met last week bc he made a joke about my appearance. He asks me to send a picture of myself, unwarranted after I told I took a nap. Didn’t question it but I sent a cute pic of myself, hair up in a cute bun, true, natural and authentic. And he responds with “damn you couldn’t try harder for me?” I knew then this isn’t someone I wanted nor needed to keep talking to. He claims it was a joke, but it wasn’t a joke to me. I think more men should give more beautiful advice like this to young woman like me. I think this is one of the things that can make the world a better place ❤ and bring everyone closer in love on this planet. Edit: I also want to clarify: he asked me for a pic but me just being oblivious, didn’t know what he meant by that. I just sent a selfie of myself when in actuality he wanted a nude. I didn’t realize this after the fact. But all the more reason why didn’t need to talk to him. A bit naive on my end.

I'm a 35-year-old single mother from Germany. The image that society has foisted on me is that of a woman of failure. Basically disqualified on the dating market because of having a child (seed from another man). In addition to that, a woman approaching her 40’s (fading beauty, sinking fertility). If I focused on my limitations, depend on the validation of men and let other people define my worth, I would despair. "Mastery" has tremendously strengthened my sense of purpose in life. All us women are failures according to society. Even the ones who have the image of supposed success. Ie marriage, family blah blah...will end up failure... We can NEVER do or be the right thing. Think about it. Even most marriages the wives are doing most of the work and putting on the he really loves me and I'm valued face whilst at best the husband doesn't even REALLY know his own wife. Yes there are some good marriages but they are tge rare exception (I always know when I'm in presence of an exception, I feel so "comfortable ". Hard to explain. 🇦🇺

yes bc you know how you look has nothing to do with who you are. All the compliments and flattery are empty, its more about them and what they want then about you. Men who only value this are the ones to watch for, as they dont view you as a whole person, just an object. You know there is not enough content for women when Robert Greene is making us content! But thanks Robert for your perspective. I am a self made millionaire - from poverty and I am overweight too (which society does look down upon). I was able to navigate myself as a woman by investing in my looks (always looked good - hair , nails outfit on a budget) even through I was bigger. I then went to college, became really educated, and paired that with looks. As a woman we have to control our emotions - that is the key and stay away from men who will drag us down and put those efforts in to our career and money earning abilities. We can use our looks to get ahead, it works every time! Just have to be very smart and intelligent and not overly emotional.

im 18 years old and even with this much experience from life(compared to older women in the comments), has been enough for me to figure out that men wont understand the way our minds work. though they will respect it if i defend my thought mechanisms confidently. we live in a male-dominant society and if youre a woman, most of the time your thoughts arent taken seriously, they make jokes about your conclusions and sexualize you instead. these are not all men, they are just less functioning members of society who need to work on themselves and their perception of women. i dont hate men. there are men that i admire. but i no longer take those people's comments into consideration. instead i put them in their place and show what my mind holds. you gotta respect me if you want to be respected.

I really appreciate this video. I am 28 and always felt incredibly ugly as a woman. One day, not too long ago, I decided to read The Art of Seduction, out of morbid curiosity. I was really surprised to find almost immediately, that Robert Greene specifically said being beautiful was NOT necessary and in fact, being too beautiful could be a hindrance to seduction. I decided to put some of the advice in the book to the test. Of course I changed my appearance somewhat (clothes, hair, makeup), but my face and body didn't change. Well, it was like magic. Men became another species to what I had known. They started showering me with gifts and compliments. They projected all sorts of ideas onto me, thought I was the ideal woman, obsessed over me. I had to stop, eventually. It felt immoral and honestly, I don't like playing a role. But I'm very glad to have had the experience, and it changed how I dealt with men and my view of myself forever. What exactly did you practice to make yourself appealing. I am a 29 year old woman and has a very small physique. I am only 5 ft and has a child like face. In my teenage days I thought I am a pretty girl but slowly I understood I did not appear the same way to the opposite sex. No one has ever asked me out and no one has ever taken real interest in me. This made me conclude that appearances plays a major role in making people interested (especially sexually) in you. No matter how friendly you appear, guys would never have that passionate urge to have you in their life.

@@annav2692 Hey Anna, The first thing I would say is don't freak out. The idea that all men find you unattractive is absurd. It IS true that the first and therefore most fundamental criteria for attracting a man will always be looks. A man's desire always starts with physical attraction. Not fair, but that's the reality. What I did may not be right for you, but I would say a few things: 1. The Seduction Types are all different and you need to find the ones that feel most natural to you. I chose the Siren because of its power but it wasn't my type. Most people have a combination of two or three types. 2. If I were you, I'd figure out my Kibbe Type (you're some kind of gamine) - Aly Art on KZbin has fantastic resources for style, haircuts, makeup etc... for the types. Also, personally, I like being tall, but if I were 5', I'd be even more keen to wear heels. 3. NEVER reveal your insecurities to men. That is unhelpful and an immediate turn off 4. Act as though you are attractive. - I would literally tell myself before ANY social interaction: "Everyone here is going to love me, they're going to find me interesting, attractive, fun and nice." Obviously what I told myself vaired based on who I was meeting (a date vs. a party vs. friends etc.) - Walk, talk and move slowly as if you have all the time in the world - don't let others stressing or rushing MAKE you change. - Walk with your head held high and your back always straight - Smile freely and often - Look people in the eye (not creepy staring, but don't avoid eye contact) 5. Meditate, pray and talk to God, even if you don't believe. It can help you clarify your thoughts, see more clearly, lower stress, understand yourself better and get rid of negative ideas and beliefs. 6. When in doubt, overdress - it will intimidate the low effort, jealous people and it will show others 'I am someone of high worth'. Stupid I know - your worth didn't change, but people care about the packaging more than the content a lot of the time. See yourself as a beautiful gem, hidden under a coat of dust and grime. You just need some TLC, polishing and time and you'll shine. This is not actually that much about looks, it's much more to do with mentality. Hope that helps. I wish you luck

Thank you, Robert. The first thing you point out is exactly what I thought when I got into the journey of becoming an author. One of the first things I declared essential was to delete all my photos on social media and start building exclusively from the value I can provide from my creativity and artwork. Unsurprisingly, engagement rates hit rock bottom. Oh well, once the purge is done, I can focus on what really matters.

Engagement rate went down because the people who followed you, did so for your pretty picture. You will have to persevere in building an audience that wants to see content regarding your art. How will you do this? Relate art with trending events. It might take time but People will follow when they see how your content connects to things they care about and can understand like five year olds.

It shows how effective your principles really are that anyone from any background can use them. Well in order to be more than that you need to have more than average ability at something, goes for both men and woman most of us are average at particular fields and then fill our head with unnecessary thoughts because accept it we don't got some specific talents to work for or be excellent .. that's the thing i see so many woman who don't look like movie stars , models , or cute girl next door but they are so talented that it doesn't bother them.

I am so grateful for this video! I just made a decision to quit a job that i really love because my colleagues and the general atmosphere was bringing me down and making me feel worst for who i was becoming. I still love the job and hope to do it in a better enviroment. A decision you made may feel bad at first but always follow your intuition and never let go of trying to be better no matter how hard it may seem ❤

great advice but really easier said than done. i once didnt pay much attention to my appearance and was faced with far more resistance than today. now, with investing more into my skin/hair clothes, etc, people receive me more positively and i get access to amazing opportunities and things based on my appearance. with that being said, beauty should NOT be the only thing i have to offer, because i know it fades away. but its truly a shallow world we live in

This is so true . As female we are subjected to extra pressure to prove ourselves so if we won’t stand up for ourselves and be firm in what we believe it becomes so much easy for others to make us feel bad about ourselves. I am 50 years old . When I started my journey as an eye surgeon some 22 years bck , ophthalmology was mainly dominated by males and we had to prove twice as much that we are efficient surgeons. But my generation stood our ground and now when I see so many lady ophthalmologists doing so great and the trust my patients put on me without blinking their eyes .. the very fact that we believed in ourselves makes me feel so proud of all of us

This is the first time I ever heard someone say that women have a more holistic approach to problem solving, I have thought about it myself, because in nowadays "men's world" people never approach it like that, which is so unfortunate... One of the best thing I’ve done to myself in my life was approaching a mirror when I was 12-13 years old and telling myself “You’re not beautiful, but you’re smart. Get even smarter.” That was hard but I’m so happy I spent years learning and honing my knowledge and expertise than on chasing the beauty standards

But I have really bad skin which I can’t do anything about, my face is not symmetrical, I have a pretty big nose , my hair isn’t thick etc So naturally Im not a pretty girl. If I look ok in my thirties that’s only because I know how to take care of myself, but not because I was born pretty

I used to feel that way. Loved my job, money I made so I could live and do things I wanted to do, , loved my life. I even made more money than some of my guy friends at the time and my ex. Then I got too sick to work, quit my job, left my boyfriend, so he could have kids with someone else and slowly lost touch with one friend after another. All I can hear still in my head is my ex saying, "What do you bring to the table?" Funny, cause that person had some part in making me that ill in the first place and would use my car cause he didn't have his own. (saved his pennies instead(). It's actually not a great feeling to know your worth and even self esteem is based on what you make, what you do, what you have and people forget about the other attributes you might have on the inside that might actually be worth something. Those material things can only exist as long as you're still healthy and functioning, but that can change, too.

Great advice! It's all about blocking out distractions and developing the soul, your inner purpose for being here. Personally, I believe that the soul is more beautiful (and powerful) than anything you can put on the body. If you purify and develop it, it will shine wherever you go, and people will take notice.

As a woman in my 20s, I have learned pretty privileges also comes with pretty burdens. Its important to filter your inner circle and surround yourself with capable driven peers, otherwise unjustified accommodations and societal conditioning may shrink you. I'm learning and more aware of my environment, to avoid intellectual atrophy I am intentionally shifting my perspective into the "meritocracy" policy rather than relying on the talent or potential.

I am 26F and I feel I've only started to scratch the surface. I am in a corporate job where I made alot of mistakes due to people pleasing. It's only now I'm moving away from it and I'm feeling abut intimidated by the path ahead. I'll probably need to job hop since I gotten good offers elsewhere. It's daunting when you start to fight for your worth. It's like suddenly tmthose who used to be with you turn against you and there's so much resistance. I only console myself by saying that life has a way of working out towards and I can only continue to walk the talk towards the women I want to be and hope it brings me to where I want.

As someone who has been made to feel that I am only here to entertain, delight and satisfy others because of the way I look, it's helpful to be reminded that I am more than just the skin I wear. I constantly get messages such as, you're so beautiful, let's go out. I don't understand why my beauty equals someone's entitlement to my company and attention? Besides this, people don't take the time to get to know me as a human. They like what they see and therefore, that's all they focus on. I wish people had the ability to be interesting, introspective and mindful of the depth I possess rather than just my appearance.
