The plugins in the current MPCs are actually kinda dope. I play my own melodies and then resample myself, still making use of the MPC as a sampling device. Sampling from external sources and playing your own shit actually is the coolest fusion to me.

Just a tip for anyone sampling ! Great compressor eq’s reverbs channel mixers have been used on these records. Tracks that test time don’t have sound extra loud or knock your head off ! Once sample it’s all about levels , levels trust your ears .great vid.

I don't fk with Ableton and all that sh. i record hardware live to two-track......until I'm happy. I need to make my YT channel serious, instead of a random catch-all for ideas, and experiments....mostly all poorly recorded, with my phone, etc.. Dude, I started fkng with sampling in the mid 80's. 😄 You know the big plastic totes that CVS, and them use to stock their stores? I have one of those completely full of cassettes of sampling, synth, and beatbox i laid on 4 track... but really it was mostly 2-trk...straight to, in real-time. no daw nonsense. Rn I'm playing a lot with harmonic minor stuff. A, D.... One of the dope things about Qun mk2....setting your scale, then running note modifiers on your sequences.. You can get wild af, and never stray from your scale/key. you can get generative, with your sequencing.... Jazz dude? yea man, it's possible in Qun.

I use the plugins in my Live 2. I freak and tweak the sounds to my liking. I don't really get into sampling, though I do understand that it can be fun. I just prefer to see what i can create from the top of my head with whatever sounds I have available. That's even more fun to me.

I have done both styles of creating from sampling and chopping everything to utilizing plugins and the best way to have REAL beats that knock and sound like real tracks is intertwining everything.
