I got one of these little beauty's,I'm so pleased with it,it warms my caravan up a treat,often it gets too hot,and I have to open the door,recently the temperature drops to well below zero,when the sun sets,but we don't feel a thing,it cheap to run as well,I get heating oil straight from the pump at 55p a litre,I've come to love the stuff,it has a pleasant smell and is gold like nectar,..anyone thinking of getting one,go for it,I got mine from eBay,and paid £23 for it,,...hey thanks for posting this very helpful video

they are great in garages that have a flow of air . i used mine for drying out cleaning cloths when cleaning down my old bikes . dried in seconds if you put them on the top . keep an eye open or they burn lol .

I wouldn't take anything for my Blue Flame. It has performed like a champ for years. If you can avoid using the red dyed kero. It will shorten the wick life. And don't forget the wick cleaner/shaper.

I found one of these and I have all the parts except the wick. I decided to make one out of hand spun cotton 2in strips. I sewed them in a circle, made a metal band for the linkage arme to connect to. But after soaking the wick for a long time it only last 10min before it turns yellow and burns the wick down. Does the heater have to be topped off? But what about when it goes down low again?

Hello thanks for the Video of your vintage UK Aladdin Blue Flame heaters. Not allot info out there and even less video. I have one that I just bought and hopefully will bringing back to life. Will be buying a new wick/cleaner & mica glass so parts do seem to be available. 15 hours off of a gallon of 1-K is pretty good really. I heard you say the wick had to cut off the carrier? How was that to do? Any other tips?
@flash17814 жыл бұрын
@WeirdWorldAquariums >>>>It was not hard, The wick was stuck like glue to the inside of the carrier. It had a full tank of kero when I got it and it was stuck in there like crazy. So I had to cut it out. You could not move the wick at all. Hope this helps

what, if any, would be the advantage of a 'blue flame' kerosene heater over the ref flame as with the perfection? i actually need a radiant style for my small living area. any model suggestions? thanks

when you keep using the wick cleaner, it cuts off the wick and lowers the height, and have to replace the wick in the end anyway?

is it the heat exchanger that produces the blue flame? isn't a blue flame way more efficient than a yellow flame? thanks guy!

pretty nice heater, how many BTUs it puts out? and how long does it last on a tank? mine 12000 BTUs heater runs about 21 hours on a tank at low setting till i got a wood stove, been heating my wolf den with the stove, rather than kerosene, with the low setting, it still makes my wolf den too warm at 85* and yes, it's heavly insulated XD

@SpiritsoftheWolf >>>Hey man, I said in the video the heater puts out around 5000. Well It's somewhere between 5000 and 11,000 btu's. I would be safe in saying 7000btu's then....LOL Usually get around 15hours in I gallon of Kero. Hope this helps.
