The first Aliens comic you showed that you said was "the original aliens," is actually issue 3/4 of Aliens "Book Two." Also later called "Nightmare Asylum." It was the sequel to your black and white hardcover which is the collected version of the original 6 book series. I think it came out in 88 or 89.

I collected in the 90s but lost all my copies in a house fire. I have looked online but can't remember the name of the story so I know this might not help but do you have an alien story about a young Alien like youth from a tribe that finds human remains that has a hole in his chest from where a chestburster obviously excaped. Don't have any more info or memory's of this mini story and starting to think I either dreamed it up or skipped into a reality where it never existed. If you have this copy please let me know the short story's name as its a 30 plus year itch that I havnt been able to satisfy by scratching it 😂

Damn good question. The issue is chronologically they are kind of all over the map. I mean start with Earth War. And then work on the older comics

I read them in order of publication date. I started with the first series dark horse ever did, then nightmare asylum, then earth war, then Genocide. Then just publication date. Don't forget to read ALIEN: The illustrated story by heavy metal magazine published in 1980. It's the comic adaptation of the film ALIEN, and it's technically the very first Alien comic ever published.
