A basic, but important data collection lesson: you must eliminate bias when collecting data to make better informed decisions. Bias can ruin the data and misguide you in your data driven decisions.

We are on the way since two years now with our side hustle to build something meaningful. It is a lot of work with zero revenues. But a lot of fun and I learned a ton of stuff which I can use for other projects. So not time wasted. You tried it. That is the most important point here.

Lots of great ideas, thanks for sharing. As a startup founder I just want to add that really painful problems almost don't exist. That's because people can't stand long term pain so they will figure out a way to work around any problem they stumble upon. After getting used to this workaround no matter how much money they loose, no matter how much time they waste they will practice this workaround endlessly. That's why real painful problems almost never exist.

Problem is whenever I have tried to be honest with friends and tell them the truth I get rebuffed and hated for it. So its wise to beg for an honest feedback from friends and assure them that u will even prefer a negative feedback than a positive feedback. That way I have seen them relax and open up.

Most successful businesses are started by people in their 40s-50s because they already have the necessary domain experience to understand the pain-points. Making an idea "blind" without understanding the target domain is bound to fail, or at least struggle.

wow those are some really good insights! thank you for sharing them with the world!!! I already knew most of those things ... since they are all obvious, but you often overlook them when you have the "next big idea" in your head that needs a "new app". I is actually really hard to find a thing that most people are missing in todays world where everyone already basically has everything. And even harder to find something that other people would be prepared to PAY you to use it. As you said, it needs to bother them so so much that they are willing to spend money to solve the problem. again, amazing video! and I wish you best of luck for your next projects!!! EDIT: just another thing I wanted to add as to why your idea didnt success, the main problem was that you were buding the app for a really really small amount of people People that are so driven that they need a special productivity app are super rare so in the start you had a very limited market. The second problem was that the people that are highly driven to work and solve their problems ... well they also already solved the problem of how to be productive anyways ... so even they dont really need this app

Hey everyone I'm in high school and know pretty much mern stack, web scrapping and cloud thing and last one ui/ux designing. I started working on a project where the basic idea is to solve the problem of data proofs, leaks and privacy problems between two persons especially if they are in a relationship. So the idea to create a web app where two people can interact with each other and they can't capture anyone's data and use it against each other if things gone wrong, basically full security. What do you think guys??

Did you have a UX designer on that project? A good UX designer, is sort of the catcher in the rye for un-needed features. Developers alone tend to over complexify software. A well structured design process, can eleviate development issues more than most people think.

People with moderate to severe ADHD 'could' benefit from this app that help them to stay hyperorganised. Their lack of attention and inability to stay organised would give them enough reasons to learn how to use this app. But whether there is a actual market for this target audience + competiton from all other producitivty tools. I don't know.

And the another problem that unfortunately its not easy to avoid and apple does that a lot, you have something people like to use or/and is useful, so big tech, sometimes by coincidence sometimes not, does something similar and in most cases you are done unless you are already too far into it. because why have a 3th party app when you can have something native, like now chrome has group tabs, that you can save and its added into your bookmarks directly. Or you have arc browser that has something similar. Its the way of the market unfortunately

+1, landing page doesn’t explain anything. “The easiest way to hack your productivity” - looks like false ad because it’s not easy by many reasons: I can’t see anything from mobile on gifs; no explaining what’s this is all about in simple words and bullets, just a ton of reviews and so on. Maybe your product is good, but it’s very hidden under bad landing page.

Bro... even spending a month on budling something is way too long... your first step should be building a quick landing page with a simple demo video made on project mockups and create a waiting list to see if people are signing up.

For me it still sounds like solid idea. I juggle on my computer many things like my current work, personal projects, and free time. For me it's really pain to open and close the apps and browser tabs. I totally believe technically this is very hard to do. I have no slightest idea how I would tackle this. It must be hard also to keep it simplistic and intuitive. I hope somebody will publish similar software, if you're not doing it.
