What makes knives so incredibly dangerous is they require no training or strength to be deadly . A child with one can wound you fatally . In fact they can cut you just laying in a drawer or at the bottom of a sink . I have 3 big scars from the putty knife I carry in my back pocket when I paint houses . So if you add in training and will, you got something really really hard to deal with . That's also why I carry knives everywhere I go . I was at a seminar with my instructor's instructor (In Silat). Somebody asked what happened to an ex-student that ended up robbing banks. He said the FBI came to him looking for insight . I'll never forget what he said , " I told them if they see him, shoot him, because he'll have knives and if he get's anywhere near your agents they are going to die ." I don't think he was joking .

Yes. The knife is very intuitive. Even untrained people are very dangerous with one… sometimes, if we are very honest, they are even more unpredictable then trained people.

Been stabbed in my neck and face, it sucked. It was for no reason but the gangbangers were out that night robbing and stabbing people. I was 19 and had to learn to use my left arm again. Just saying im 33 now and this worlds gotten worse and more dangerous, I carry a firearm now but really respect this.

If I lived in a location where the firearm was an option I would get some serious training with a handgun personally. I hope we start swinging to more civility and peacefulness soon.

@@macaluso48 agreed, unfortunately here in Canada, and most first world countries, the firearm is only an option for criminals. Even carrying things that only have a use of force purpose are against the criminal code. So you have to make sure what you carry has a mundane function. So if you dial 911, you will have to keep yourself alive for 10 to 40 minutes in my town, until help arrives. But you have no right to carry any tools to aid you. So that leaves those of us who think like this with a bit of a problem. Do I stay a law abiding citizen or do I live outside of the law because I feel morally justified? I struggle with that very question.
