Totally agree with Red Wings last I don’t believe at all In them the defense is awful the goaltending is unreliable I don’t trust the offensive players Debrincat isn’t consistent and bunch of old guys.

For the Lightning: I get it, but I feel like they're transitioning to becoming a more defense first team. I think Vasilevskiy will bounce back and be better than he was last year McDonagh is better defensively than Sergachev and has great chemistry with Cerank. Adding him will make thr LD2 spot better defensively and make Cernak a better player. JJ Moser is a great 3rd pairing guy and should pair well with Perbix. I'm also betting on Hedman becoming a slightly below league average defender. If all of that happens (which is a big *if*), then they should be Top 10-15 in goals/against per game. I thonk their offense will be the same overall. Worse on the PP since they'll like a true one-timing threat from the LW, but Guentzel will make them better 5 on 5. I think they're a borderline Cup team at best, but I could also see them bottoming-out (for their standards) and miss tjte playoffs.

In all seriousness, I do see them taking a bit of a step back, but not as drastically as you posit. I think they should be around 85 ish points, which is ok. Not great, but sometimes you have to step back before you can push to the next real level, as some of our prospects are ready to take significant roles. 6th in the division, no playoffs.

We get kane for a full season, taresanko and call up our young players who look really good, upgrade at goalie (Talbot>Reimer) lose out on the playoffs by a tie breaker while having more wins than Washington, and the wings get worse? Yzerplan really hasn't impressed me but we will see...Having 3 players drafted by them during their Rebuild after 5 years is crazy...Also the absolutely awful contracts he's signed are yikes, somehow Detroit is old and looks almost like they're ready to enter a Rebuild with such a old roster....Stevey rushed the Rebuild by signing Veterans to overpays that pulled them up in the standing which also cost them more high end prospects to truly become core members...35 year old Patty Kane being a core member when you're supposed to he exiting a rebuild is crazyyyy.

Copp chiarot and holl were terrible signings can't lie, but that man Steve has improved the team every year after he took over in 2019-20 season. His first pick Moritz Seider has panned out Raymond has panned and kasper Danielson mbn edvinson cossa and Augustine are primed to make the roster as soon as this season and over the next 2. Wings were in cap hell when Steve took over, if you look at the whole picture and every moves he's made how well he's done and idk who's done better? Also walman trade was wack I'm not an yzerplanner but it's wack and baseless to say Steve is a bad gm. Jury is still out on lalonde I think this is a make it or break it year for lalonde but he may have just been a good transitional coach
