My Autumn sewing plans | A Whistles inspired dress | Fabric purchases

Today I'm sharing my Autumn sewing plans, not many plans because I'm trying to be realistic and not put too much pressure on myself.

Thank you Tania, I love your plans and that fabric from Porto is gorgeous . I have had to say goodbye to many of my much loved cats over the years and it is heartbreaking . The lack of a summer here in the UK definitely affected my love of sewing, I just gave up with my summer plans.......I have , however just cut out a simple tried and trusted dress in a distinctly autumn fabric which hopefully will get me back into the swing of things😍 Love that Whistles dress, so good luck with that !

@@jenniferewart Thank you Jennifer, I'm sorry you've had to say goodbye so many times, it's heartbreaking. The summer weather was really disappointing, I feel your frustration. Its exciting to plan pretty summer makes but sometimes I wonder, what's the point! 🤣

When you showed the Whistles dress, I immediately thought of a Simplicity Amazing Fit pattern I bought years ago and have never used. Then you produced that pattern!

Lovely video! I have made the Simplicity over sized shirt and I love the pattern. It’s the first big 5 pattern that gives instructions on the “burrito” method and I refer to it every time I make another shirt because so many of the bug 5 don’t show that method and instead have you slip stitch the yoke down which I don’t want to take the time to do. 😊

How amazing I live 1.5 hrs from Porto although I’ve never been. I’m trying to find where mind the maker fabric is made which I’m told it’s made in Portugal and Turkey. I live in central Portugal so best wishes from here.

Love the fabric for the Blanca, that will look fab! Like you I'm scared of the zip and the amount of pieces but you have now inspired me to stop being such a chicken and get on with it!! I'll be sewing alongside you hopefully as I definitely want a Blanca for Autumn / winter. Can't wait to see the Bob pants too! 🤩

So so sorry to hear about Ettie. I loved seeing her in your videos. We lost our cat very suddenly last Autumn and found it really tough so I really feel for you. It was bad enough going through that with my husband but to have to go on your own is horrible. 💔 Hopefully, in time, you’ll feel ready to provide a loving home to another cat in need. In the meantime, you have some great plans and fabrics there. Hope you feel the sewjo soon and have fun making them up. Xx

@@debbiecarter6430 Thank you Debbie, I'm sorry to hear about your cat too. They leave behind a big hole 😔 We got a kitten a few months ago to prepare for the worst, as my son loved Ettie so much. The kitten has been a great distraction for him and we're planning to put her ashes in the garden x

You deserve a medal for having to take your lovely cat to the vets on your own. It is the worst thing to endure. Lovely plans Tania.....love that cobalt blue viscose, that's going to be a special marnie. Aw how lovely that you got treated on your birthday to a visit to a fabric shop! I hope you can find time/ energy to make all those things. Have a great week.
