I was happy enough when I heard the ffx music, then you threw in La La Land and Breath of the Wild which was enough to make me subscribe. But when I heard Dearly Beloved I actually started to tear up. Thank you for the beautiful cinematography and choice of music. I should be visiting Japan in October 2023, can’t wait🥹

This was a helpful video :) We’re planning on going October 2023, and wanted a good idea of what it’s like during that time. Also, I enjoyed listening to the “Hymn of the Fayth” around the 12 minute mark. Nerds of a feather flock together.

I spent 3 weeks in Japan going from Tokyo and stopping and/or staying at Kurobe, Osaka, Kyoto, Nara, Koyasan, Himeji, Hiroshima, Fukuoka, Kumamoto, Kurokawa and finally Kawaguchiko. It was also during autumn and the trip was my first to Japan. I kind of tried to "see it all" and while I am glad I did it was very tiring doing that many things and I really wish I had more time. BUT it also means that whenever I get around to going back again I'll know where I want to go again and what I can skip and how much time it will probably take me. Some tips: 1. You will most likely walk much more than you are used to. As in I averaged 7+ miles a day with days as high as 12 miles! Get in shape not just walking that far but staying on your feet for long periods of time as seating/benches are limited in Japan unless you're at a park or station. 2. Public bathrooms also seemed limited but if you're taking a train then each station has restrooms. I also found out that lots of convenience stores have restrooms as well. 3. Trash, you need to take it with you as there are few trash cans around. Best places to find trash bins are train stations, convenience stores and for cans/bottles next to vending machines. 4. No matter what Google Maps says about transferring to another train. It will almost certainly take longer than what it lists so keep that in mind. I suppose it's a good estimate if you are familiar with the layout of the station but not for someone who is there for the first time. 5. Speaking of Google Maps or any directions from an app. I noticed that for train stations it's far easier to be concerned with the platform number than the actual name of the train. Sort of like at your airport - Your departure gate number is what matters, not what air carrier or flight (within reason). 6. Airbnb is generally cheap in Japan but also where I had my first bad experience. I would definitely only go with superhosts in the future. Another possibility is using business hotels like APPA which are very modestly priced for what you get. Not as cheap as Airbnb deals can be but still a guaranteed experience.
