I'm going to see Käärijä, Blind Channel and Kuumaa still this year, so excited! Peurunka was originally a wellness center for ww2 veterans and after they started to be too old and few to utilize it much, it was expanded and converted into a spa resort/conference center. You get a very specific kind of party crew in those kind of places. I guess the one thing you could compare it with is Stockholm cruise ferry on a weekend.
@espotpodАй бұрын
Oh that's so interesting! Sounds like it was created for a good purpose, and it's nice they found a way to keep using the facility.

@@espotpod yes. Doubt you saw it much due to darkness but it’s actually on a really beautiful site and there’s lots of outdoor activities. Recommend the spa when you get tired of cold and dark and feel like some pampering. There’s a massively long water slide too.

It's totally ok and normal to have a non-alcoholic drink in a bus. The alcohol I think is a bit of a grey area. In a normal everyday bus it will be probably at least frowned upon, but in a party bus like that I think it is an unwritten rule that at least half of the people will have some 😅 When you told about the quiet and somber atmosphere on the ride to the concert, I was already thinking "okay but the ride back will be a different story! 😏" 😄

Olli Määttä brought Stanley Cup to Jyväskylä in 2016. You can watch a news clip of that in YLE Areena: "Yle Uutiset Keski-Suomi: Pokaalijuhlat Olli Määtän ja Stanley Cup -pytyn kunniaksi". I don't know at what point did the Stanley Cup winner start to get a day with it, but it has probably been in all sort of places. Probably once or twice in some sauna somewhere in Finland. Couple of videos on that: "Lehkonen's Day with the Stanley Cup" and "Rantanen's Day with the Stanley Cup". Does you enjoying Pasi ja Anssi's songs mean that your Finnish skills are already at the level where you are able to understand some of the ambiguous meanings in their songs? Starting with the Pasianssi being Solitaire in Finnish. If not, then they aren't ambiguous at all-just sing them everywhere as loud as you can. Have you discovered other new bands and artists while being in Finland? Finnish or foreign? On Christmas people take candles to cemeteries even more so. You can also find a spot there where to light a dandle for a memory of those buried elsewhere.
@ullarajala4784Ай бұрын
One could do a ranking video of the new Käärijä album. That would not require necessarily copyrighted material.

So glad you're doing better 😊 Have to point out that Laukaa is a municipality or a town, so it consists of several villages 😄 and if you're in Jyväskylä around Christmas time, you should definitely go see the cemeteries then. They are gorgeous in the evening on Christmas eve, especially if we have permanent snow by then.
@espotpodАй бұрын
I think municipality means something a little different for you here. Back home we would probably call something like Laukaa a township. I definitely have to check out the cemeteries here.
@millasinisalo7584Ай бұрын
@espotpod Yea, could be. The definition of it is a bit out there, but so is the definition of kunta in finnish, if you're not into that kind of politics 😅
@KristinaWesАй бұрын
Yes, Laukaa is its own independent municipality. 😊 One should always remember that Finland is a small Country, so the actual municipalities are quite small, too - so there aren't that much people / inhabitants for each municipalities, as the whole Country has only about 5,5 million inhabitants. 😅🤭😁

nice finishing line, haters gonna hate... Hope you are enjoying Finland, even if some bureaucracy is way to hard... but would be less in the US or Canada? thank god when I was 7 months in Canada, In part for school, alot was already taken care of. but still was a handful
@espotpodАй бұрын
Austin, who I mention in the video, moved to the US before Finland and he said the US is way easier. No social security number needed to open a bank account, and bank accounts are only used for banking, which is apparently a foreign concept here.
@fossi4743Ай бұрын
@ I was in Canada 2011. And at that point it was a lot of BS. Biggest problem in Finland you need to validate a lot trough your bank. But would not Mobil certificate fix a few of your problems? Never used it myself but could be a solution
@espotpodАй бұрын
@fossi4743 I tried to get it today but it requires bank verification. Giant catch 22. Someone said if I go in person to the phone store they might be able to do it for me.
