Anthony is such a beautiful happy little spirit. I'm so glad he seems happy as some children with disabilities you kind of know they aren't happy or can't communicate property. He must be in discomfort but it's nice to see him happy. Fantastic hospital, I remember having emergency surgery there as a kid and they were so nice to me. But that's the whole point of pro-choice anyway isn't it - to offer the mother an informed choice. And his mother made the choice to give him a chance at a good life. Does she have that right?

I also had that thought but I really don’t think I could handle seeing all the babies who don’t make it or end up severely disabled. I think I would be better working at a daycare or school or something like that. I also love kids though. Didn’t happen until I had my own and now I think they are the best thing about humanity.

Oh..the first story where the mom talked about the sister having to be apart from them..and she said she's been so good about it; I completely understand. My little brother almost died and I would have been good in any situation to make sure he got the care he needed. My younger brother and I are very good for one another. I carried him on my back till he got bigger than I was and we were always close in size so once we hit that teen/preteen stage I still tried but couldn't do it as much. He's not over 6 feet tall and can carry me. I can't imagine my life without him.

Kind of crazy to see this because the little girl Nadine who has Hip Displacia has the exact same condition that I have! I live in Phoenix Arizona and I was born with the most severe case of Hip Displacia that Arizona had ever seen! I went undiagnosed until I was 11 years old at which point I was put into emergency surgery where they broke my pelvis, my femur, femoral ball and my hip in 2 places and put me in a body cast after rebuilding my whole hip and hip socket. I was in a body cast and wheelchair for 13 weeks at which point I had to re learn how to walk. I have since had 16 more surgeries on my right hip and both of my knees and have more recently had a complete hip replacement... I'm only 32 years old

I am glad they caught it early for this little girl so she doesn't have to go thru what you did. So sad that children have to have these conditions at such a young age. I hope you are doing better. I will say a prayer for you. And thank you for sharing your story. Stay strong.

I’m a RN Clinical Supervisor here in the USA..I know there was some comments about the mom’s behavior at 8:10....she’s ok I think she maybe fatigued from sitting in the Er and she seemed worried ,,,we all react differently to situations and she seems normal ..I liked her and she is quite concerned about his injury ,,,I don’t think she seems like she’s off or medicated ...she’s ok ..

Fantastic PEDS hospital and the staff is wonderful and they really seem to care. And the parents don't have the added stress of figuring out how to pay for their child's care unlike parents of sick kids here in the States.

Ireland doesn't have the NHS, so we still have to pay for all our healthcare. Temple street offers payment plans (I used to be in and out of there all the time with asthma) but to see GPs it's usually 50 euro or more upfront before you even walk in.

Omg why can't they give us crutches like those in the US? Plus I have seen xrays like that on my feet and toes here and they say there is NOTHING wrong. That it's too small a fracture to be any sort of a problem and take a Tylenol if it bothers you. I want to move to Ireland.
