let's not be Haters. Yes, Elvis sang covered songs only because he loves it. He respected the artist who sang it, thats why he sang it to. Because of Elvis we wouldn't know who they are today. The Lord has ways of making your name known in history even if he has to use somebody like Elvis. Amen to that.

Darrel is brillant. Good singer and twice as good lead guitarist as Beck. He receorded like 25 albums in ten years. He is one of the brightest stars on rockabilly heaven.

If I may explain, it's an old "hip expression" that was used back in the 1960's by the beatnik generation. Jeff Beck is great, no question. But Darrell Higham, the singer here, playing rhythm, plays better authentic rockabilly Scotty Moore/Carl Perkins solos than pretty much anybody. Hell, hand HIM the the 'lectric geetar.

The guy who sold all the records and made many a publisher/writer wealthy with his magnificent, wholly original talents. No one, especially the curious Elvis Deniers, would have any idea who Arthur Crudup was at any point. The Presley record has & will be the best known, best earning rendition...and it's a fantastic record.
