As we all know, these are ALL fantastic musicians (AND GUITARISTS), but Scotty Moore's solos are hard to duplicate. GREAT versions of two great 1950s rockabilly songs.

Scotty Moore and James Burton had some great guitar parts for Elvis.

WOW! 1956 great song... Jeff channeling Scotty Moore... What a hoot! Rock and roll again at its best, again.
@paulobtuble9 жыл бұрын
let's not be Haters. Yes, Elvis sang covered songs only because he loves it. He respected the artist who sang it, thats why he sang it to. Because of Elvis we wouldn't know who they are today. The Lord has ways of making your name known in history even if he has to use somebody like Elvis. Amen to that.

We also have to be thankful that if Elvis Never covered it arthur would be forgot about a long long time ago...also the lads on the stage there, they would'nt have sung the song if there was only the arthur version....Elvis did something genious with the song...Elvis loved arthur, whats your big problem?

Darrel is brillant. Good singer and twice as good lead guitarist as Beck. He receorded like 25 albums in ten years. He is one of the brightest stars on rockabilly heaven.

@bytoriasnowdoggy4 жыл бұрын
@Bo Reed Hello there Bo Reed, Wasn't sure if I knew what you meant with your reply "Nope" when I wrote "Dig it" as a response to this video. If I may explain, it's an old "hip expression" that was used back in the 1960's by the beatnik generation. Instead of saying, I'm understanding it, I like it or I get it, they would express it in another way by just saying "Dig it". Was just a little confused by your reply to my response. At any rate, it's all good when Jeff Beck shows up! Rockabilly forever!!! Peace.

Jeff Beck is great, no question. But Darrell Higham, the singer here, playing rhythm, plays better authentic rockabilly Scotty Moore/Carl Perkins solos than pretty much anybody. Hell, hand HIM the the 'lectric geetar.

Really is past due that we give ARTUR CRUDUP the credit he deserves. That is HIS song, Elvis covered it . Darrel has to know better,a little disapointed he decided to simply continue a myth.

Sorry to interupt your retail, post 1980 opinion four years later, but I just saw it. Yes, ELVIS. The guy who sold all the records and made many a publisher/writer wealthy with his magnificent, wholly original talents. No one, especially the curious Elvis Deniers, would have any idea who Arthur Crudup was at any point. The Presley record has & will be the best known, best earning rendition...and it's a fantastic record.

It's fine Jeff playing American rock-a-billy but I wished he'd have found an American to do the singing. Brits singing in fake American accents is dreadful.
@bbsoni48144 жыл бұрын
sorry to say but Elvis version is SOOOOOO much better...the singer struggles so bad it's painful to watch, and even Jeff is sort of struggling to imitate the great Scotty Moore who really IS THE BEST...and NO ONE sing like Elvis, the absolute King
@ep61743 жыл бұрын
And where did Scotty Moore and Elvis get this song from?
