I am in group B this week here at Smith Lake in Alabama. I am pretty excited about this lake because it is full of spotted bass. The big question is, how are they going to get caught? On bait, on docks, shallow, or deep. Either way, I have to put that puzzle together.

Way to go on the win, DC! 100 G's in the old pocket! I had a feeling that you found the answer to the puzzle of currently fishing Smith Lake, like a lot of the heavy weights fishing Stage Three. Yet, you did it better than the rest, and won with the heavy bag during the Championship Round, when it really counted... You first survived and qualified for the Knockout Round, and I am sure you were learning current conditions and fish behavior, even within the Qualifying Round. Then I could tell when you caught 20+ pounds towards the end of the Knockout Round, that "you completely figured-out the fish", big time. Thus, you were able to carry your knowledge and catching streak immediately into the next day Championship Round, unlike Wheeler and Neal, and "put-on the heat", when it really counted. And, let's face it.: Smith is on your native doorstep, you may have fished the lake a lot over your years living two hours away, and as an Alabama native, you know your local waters and fishing within the seasons on those waters, accordingly. Yeah, Dude!!! DING!!!!
