Great video! By the way, on the topic of Asian representing male dolls… I felt the same way and wasn’t happy with what Barbie had to offer either. But I did discover other great Asian dolls by Mattel - the BTS dolls. I’m in no way knowledgeable about BTS or really interested in them, but the dolls are beautiful. (It's sort of like the Twilight dolls.) They’re fully articulated, detailed, well-made and very edgy and modern (kind of like the Looks dolls). I keep finding them for ridiculously cheap. I just got 5 for 5 bucks, fully dressed. So they’re not as hard to come by as the Looks or other sought after dolls. They’re sort of still a hidden gem and fit in really nicely with some of these newer, more realistic looking dolls.

Ohhh! I don’t know much about BTS either and I’ve seen the dolls without giving them a second thought. Are they 10-11” size? What a great tip, I’ll definitely check them out! 💗🙏

@@kadawalden They're 11" tall, so just a smidge shorter than the typical Ken and Barbie dolls but taller than the petite dolls, which is pretty realistic and pretty nice to be honest.

I love this - especially as you detail why got certain Looks dolls. I do have a few - I got a couple from wave one and two and three and I got 2 from Wave 4. Maybe I should do a Barbie Looks tour as well. Good idea, Kada! ❤

I recently purchased the Barbie Looks Wave 4 no. 21. She is absolutely gorgeous! She is the only Barbie Looks doll I have in my collection and I am now regretting not buying any of the dolls from the previous years. Your dolls are beautiful! Love your videos😍

Thank you for sharing your beautiful Looks collection. I love all the Looks dolls but only started collecting them this year. I struggled to get all the first-wave dolls - but finally Victoria arrived last week, and Lina and the blonde Ken with the facial hair have apparently just cleared customs (I live in Australia). They will almost complete my collection of all the Looks dolls. I am just waiting to get the tall brown-haired Ken with red facial hair from Wave 3 (or is it 2 🙃) - he is a bit elusive over here in Australia (maybe it is our strong sunshine 😄). I now have all of the other Waves - even a couple of doubles 🙃 - but he is eluding me (well eluding me at an affordable price anyway). Hopefully, soon he can join his friends and complete my collection 🥰

I really enjoy the Looks doll, I have quite a few from the first two waves of but only bought one from the 3rd wave and so far none from the 4th. They definitely provide really good quality with amazing articulation and I like the fact that they come dressed very simply so you can really add your own style stamp on them.

Those outfits are gorgeous on your dolls. Where did you purchase/acquire them? Especially the vintage looks. Are they truly vintage? So gorgeous! I adore all the diversity in the LOOKS line. I grew up playing with Barbies in the 70's and early 80s, and, as much as I loved my blonde/blue-eyed Barbies, the choices were so limited then. I started re-collecting Barbies a year ago when I decided to thrift one for my not-yet-born first grandbaby. My mother, who made most of my Barbie clothes as a child, had just passed away, and I wanted to keep my grieving self busy with a project that would honor her, but also be a gift I could share with my own daughter and granddaughter -- a way to connect us all. So I made a bunch of Barbie clothes for my grandbaby's Barbie. Then I decided to buy a few more dolls so Barbie would have friends and my grandbaby would have more to play with. When I started to shop I was blown away by the variety and quality of Barbie dolls available now! That's when I discovered made-to-move yoga Barbies, Barbie LOOKs dolls and Fashionistas dolls. I found a doll that resembled my daughter and one that resembled her husband, so my granddaughter would have a pair that looked like her parents. But I couldn't stop there. So many dolls resonated with me, and I bought another and another and another, opting for as much diversity as possible, in all ethnicities, skin tones and body types. I even bought a variety of Skipper and friends, Stacie and friends, Chelsie and friends, and even baby Barbies. The few dolls I was going to get for my grandbaby has become an ever-growing collection of dolls for the baby and also for me. LOL It's amazing how quickly it became an obsession. Fast forward to today and my grandbaby, Maya, is nearly a year old and starting to walk. It will be a few years before she can play with the dolls, but I am taking good care of them and enjoying them until she can. The Barbie LOOKs dolls I have are: Wave 1 - none Wave 2 - #12 Freyda (curvy Latina with brunette side ponytail) Wave 3- #13 VIctoria, #15 Karl (petite, Latina, long brunette hair with highlights), #16 Andra, #17 Brandon (Asian ken with flocked hair, purple tank and pink slacks. By the way, he is on sale for $19.22 right now on Amazon.), #18 Tate (buff Ken, brunette with color block orange and yellow t-shirt and blue shorts) Wave 4 - #25 Ken (not sure face mold but he is a gorgrous black, buff doll with curly hair)

I'm just starting to get interested in these dolls, so this was a perfect video for me! I'm really enjoying all of them. So I just had to say that John, oh John, I would add Henry to his name. John Henry, lol. Did u ever sing that song in school? John Henry was a man who could beat the machine? There's that old folktale, and I think he fits it perfectly. Also, Cam can't be Cam in my book. Cam is John Redcorn. Have u seen King of The Hill? Oh man, he fits it to a T! All the girlys are gorg. Congrats on a beautiful collection! And thanks for sharing! 😉🙃✌️💜✌️💜

Hi Kada! Yes! The LOOKS line is what drew me back into Barbie collecting. I bought #11 from Wave 2 and #13 from Wave 3. They were my first two dolls in my new era of collecting. Now I have #20 from Wave 4. They’re all the redheads. I only collect Barbies with red hair. Naturally, I have preordered the 2024 Holiday doll with red hair. I can’t wait to have her and put her on a made to move body. Did you get her? As always, I enjoy your videos and looking at your collection! You have a great selection of the LOOKS line. ☺️

@@kadawalden I think the red hair makes them so striking and they are pretty rare so they stand out when they do make an appearance. I have red hair and when I was a little girl, I didn’t know anyone else with red hair. Of course my Barbie was blonde. I would have loved to have a Barbie with red hair. Now my Barbie dreams have come true! ☺️

Wave 3 Andra is my favorite from your collection! Nice collection! Personally, the Looks dolls aren't my favorite, but I do have one, a The Barbie Looks City Shine doll. She came in a gold dress and has long brown hair, I just love her.

Great collection 👍! I have a few Looks doll like Lina from wave 1, from wave 2 the male, the rasberry hair & Latina ones, wave 3 I got the two males so that's a total of 6 😃 I like their variety but not their price 👎 I don't have any from wave 4 but I do like the one with bangs, the AA & the guy 😍

Great video, really love how you've styled them all ❤ And yes, we truly want an older looking doll!! (I'm 57). In 2021 or 2022 I found a wave 1 Barbie Looks doll for 8 euro's on Amazon. She's so pretty, the darker skin with afro and black bodysuit. She's amazing and for 8 euro's ❤❤

I love the Looks line. I sadly do not have any dolls from wave 1. I would love to get the Lina face mold from that wave but I’m too cheap to pay eBay prices for her. I did end up buying two of the wave 4 redheads. She pops up on Amazon for 25 bucks pretty frequently but she sells out very quickly. I just happened to hit it at the right time.

I have about 3 or 4 from each wave unboxed too. This last wave I got an extra Lina & Andra in box. Cam with the long black hair...yes ! He's my favorite Ken, got him too.. More like him please 😂

I bought the redhead from Wave 4. That was the only one I liked out of all the series. I own the red head from wave 3 and I named her Emily. I only a few from every wave. I own 8 of them.

@@kadawaldenI also have the redhead from Wave 4. I was able to get her off of Amazon from a seller called We-R-toys for about $44 USD. I was also able to get the Asian Ken doll you were talking about in the video off of Amazon right now I think he's on sale for about $17 and he should be arriving today! So by the time he gets here I'll probably have 5 Barbie looks dolls in total! (PS if you see multiple comments by me about this it's probably because for some reason. when I look at the comments under this video I can't see my comment and I want to make sure that you know you can get them 😭)

@@kadawaldenso update He's here! I thought he was going to have a heart on the side of his head but he doesn't.... I looked at the pictures on Amazon and I realized that he's not supposed to have one . I really like him but I did notice that on his face under his eye he has like a little indent? But I'm just going to pretend like it's a birthmark or something lol same with the small. Above his eye... I don't know if it's supposed to be there but it's barely noticeable when you're far away. The only other thing that I don't like about him it's his pants because when I sit him down the velcro in the back opens up... But otherwise he's a great doll!
