Hi darlings, I wanted to share my beauty course experience incase it would be helpful for any of you who are starting out. I studied around 3 years ago so some things may have changed but this was just a general personal experience. Love your video! Would you suggest doing a level 1 (where I want to go has level 1) or going straight for level 2? I’m 21, have no experience with working in beauty or anything like that but interested in it but worried if I go to level 2, i’ll miss the basics and know how to do certain things that you develop more on in level 2.. if that makes sense haha! :) Thanks.. and keep doing these videos, they’re SO helpful!x

ShonaaT Hi! If you have your maths and english GCSES then I wouldn’t recommend Level 1 because it would be a waste of time to be honest. Go straight to Level 2 they cover the basics there too x

I went to the beauty Academy a year ago, was aload of rubbish. Don't waste your money, That course is more of a touch up course for people who need a refresher.

Thank you! The name of the course is Level 2 beauty therapy with makeup and it was 8 months. I studied so long ago I can’t remember what came in the kit. Buying a kit was essential to start the course but you was allowed to bring in your own products/tools/skincare products if you wanted to x

Omg I done mine there too, I needed to do the Level 2 course basically for the certificate as an VTCT so I could go onto Level 3, as I already knew what I was doing because I worked in a private academy doing short courses & also had been working in the industry. Thank god I already knew what I was doing because the course was absolutely terrible, even the support outside, so no they have not got any better and I have used several of their locations for the different days and they are all the same.

Thank you for sharing your stories and experiences. I'm studying beauty therapy in feb and I have been loving watching your videos! The main worry that I have is that I have really thick black hairs that grow on my chin I try to hide it as much as possible and it is my biggest insecurity. I also have struggled with acne since puberty but is not cronic acne. do you think having a flaws like these will lower my chances in becoming a beauty therapist? I know that image is very important in the industry, I would love to help women that have problems like me as I know how it feels and can relate and would love to make a difference in their lives. I would love to hear what you have to say :)

Image is definitely a big factor when it comes to the beauty industry but this won’t lower your chances at all! A lot of us have insecurities and there are many beauty therapists out there who don’t have perfect skin. Having acne and excess hair growth is so common and I have seen the relief in customers faces when I tell them that I deal with the same problems. Some customers feel like we would judge - so they become more comfortable if you’re dealing with certain problems too. Trying to help customers with skin concerns that you can relate to gives you so much motivation to do your job to the best of your ability. You clearly have been doing some research because you have come across my video - this shows that you care and you’re eager to learn so I’m sure you’re going to be an amazing beauty therapist! I know a girl who bites her nails but she is such a good nail technician. My close friend doesn’t wax her own eyebrows but she’s amazing at doing it on customers. Yes image matters but appearance isn’t everything.

I'm really late to this video but I need to ask.. in the adult group at lcbt, what sort of ages were there? I'm 28 and about to graduate with a psychology degree as well, but I'm already feeling a general lack of passion for a lot of the paths I see other students on my course excited about. I'm know I'm already old to be finishing my undergraduate never mind starting another course straight away lol but I'm starting to feel really interested in beauty and don't want to let something like age hold me back and regret it.. especially when I'm still in my 20s! I'd just worry about being so much older than everyone else :/ I'm sorry you had such a hard time when you graduated too, but congrats on figuring out what you wanted to do and going for it xxxx

Penny Alice Hi! In my level 2 group the majority were your age. A couple were 19, a few were early 20s, a few were 30s and one 40+. My level 3 group had more younger girls but I personally didn’t notice a huge age gap because we all got on well. Even working in salons there were a variety of ages between therapists. It’s a shame you lost passion in psychology I hope you find something you’re excited about. I have videos on what it’s like being a beauty therapist so maybe you will get a better idea of what it’s like x

Layla El naser Your class mates are in for a big surprise when they start waxing in a salon. They will get clients who are hairy in for a wax. That’s the whole point really 🤦‍♀️

I don't know if the makeup courses in LCBT are good. I don't think LCBT provide a Level 1 makeup course - they only have Level 2. You only need to do Level 1 if you don't have your english and maths GCSE's. I checked on google and there are makeup colleges that have much better reviews than LCBT so I would recommend you check them out instead. Type 'best makeup courses in London' and there are colleges with 4.9 star ratings! Good luck on your journey you're gonna love it!

I personally liked LCBT it wasn't too bad. If you just want to do nails, I recommend you check out courses by well known brands such as Biosculpture. Definitely worth checking them out!

Thank you so much :) You're still young! Definitely not too old for LCBT - you'll be put in a 19+ group. My group was a mixture of ages ranging from 19-50. Many people I ended up with were in the process of a career change so don't worry you're not alone!

@@kleinevans8016 Generally a beauty therapist works in a salon/spa and does facials, nails, waxing, spray tans and more. An aesthetician generally works in a beauty clinic and does advanced facials, body treatments etc. Depending on which country you're at, have a look at jobs and what qualifications you need

Anyone who wants to be part of the esthetic or beauty world, word of advice don't do CIDESCO!!! its a waste of time and money because you can do some stuff by doing some short courses which are less expensive. People don't even recognize this qualification and if you explain they thing massage therapist is the only job for you. CIDESCO is a bit difficult and very expensive. another thing they train you for makeup only for a week as this is not part of course all concentration is on Waxing, Manicure, Pedicure and Massages.
